Bra straps showing or covered up?

It is that time of year again for small strappy tops. The trouble is what do you do about your bra straps? My daughter thinks it looks tacky, but I think as long as my bra matches my top it is OK if the straps show occasionally. I am not saying all the time, I am not talking dirty white bras, but nice coloured bras. Is there anything wrong with showing a nice fuchsia strap under a matching top? I don't like clear straps I think they look tacky.

i agree with you on the clear straps...they look so tacky and there is just no point having these because everyone can see them unless you are miles away!





I don't usually like bra straps showing and so wear strapless bras or low cross backs when wearing strappy tops but this isn't always possible or comfortable.





I don't think there is anything wrong with matching coloured bra showing a bit though so long as it's not red straps under a black top or black under a white :)





It sounds like you know what looks tacky and what doesn't so go with what you are comfortable with as I'm sure you will look lovely and respectable no matter
Reply:Totally in agreement with you - fine if the bra is in a colour that matches the strappy top, otherwise definitely no and clear straps look very odd to me. I'm quite a big cup size so my bra straps are not really delicate so I often buy vest style tops rather than strappy camis - I couldn't afford too many different colours of bra anyway.
Reply:I used to think bra straps on display was a definite no no, but now there are loads of gorgeous bras to choose from, makes you want to show them off. Like you say, no clear or mucky ones, anything else is fine, better than droopy boob syndrome, not saying yours are darling, but you know what i mean. Like Rowan says, kids hate their mums showing anything off. .... Roll on summer. xxx

Reply:I totally agree with you, I wear black bras with my little black vests. Anyone C/D cup or above need the ultimate support even in the summer. And anyone for wearing those plastic straps in hot weather, ouch they rub and leave bright red marks on your shoulders.
Reply:I prefer not to see straps, but as you say if they match the colour of the top, then it's often difficult to tell if it's a bra strap, or part of the top.

Reply:i agree with you when you say that clear straps look tacky and also they are very uncomfortable to wear. yeah if you were wearing a yello top there's no problem with wearing a yellow bra. it just looks nicer than wearing a green one or a purple one!!!
Reply:Unless we can afford to replace them all with strapless ones then us girls have no choice but to show a bit of strap. I like to match when ever possible like you. One would assume she is small enough to go without a bra.

Reply:People can moan about bra straps looking horrid under strappy tops but for some of the more voluptuous women.. a good supporting bra without ugly clear one or strapless ones is a lifesaver.

Reply:I think matching colors are okay. It really depends on the top. You wouldn't want to wear a speghitti strap top over a wide strap bra. That would look bad even if the colors did match.

If it slips out then its not like youve broken the law, it just looks tacky.
