Whiteflies are taking over...HELP!!!!!!!!!?

I recently purchased Fuchsias and they came with uninvited pests who are multiplying and now invading their neighbor's beautiful leaves.

What can i do to get rid of them without bringing harm to my plants? I would like to use a natural product if possible versus a chemical treatment.

Anyone have any ideas that have worked for you or someone you know?

Whiteflies are taking over...HELP!!!!!!!!!?
You can use the yellow sticky traps if you can find them. There might by ways on how to make one by smear Vaselines or engine grease on a piece of yellow paper. The bugs are attracted to yellow coloring, so they'll fly towards the trap and get stuck. good luck!
Reply:Your plant's soil is too wet. Let it dry out before watering again.

Which container plants are resistant to aphids?

I have a small front and back porch-- back is shade(north) and front partly sun(south.) I live in Seattle and have horrible aphid problems. The only things that I have luck with are geraniums (front porch), which I like. On the back porch, impatiens and fuchsias have all gotten chewed to bits by aphids (I work a lot and need low maintenance plants, especially for the back.) I think alyssum do OK out there. I love flowers. Suggestions for a shaded porch with skinny planterboxes?

Front porch has round pots. For it, I got petunias last year which I read were aphid resistant and they turned into aphid farms! I now have primroses along with the geraniums and they seem OK but they probably won't last all summer. I also had luck with Sweet William which was kind of grassy looking, but Salvia gets aphids, too. I tried spraying with soapy water and it doesn't help much. I would be happy with anything easy and green and flowery. Anything like that which aphids don't like? Thanks!

Which container plants are resistant to aphids?
tri color plant. cold hardy to zone 9b. i am not sure what zone seattle is. the tri color plant is one of my favorites. it had apids on it, but it never damaged the plant, and then the aphid died off. really nice blooms too.

also bananas are aphid prone so dont get
Reply:What damage do they do to plants?

Like most insects aphids spit on their food and the plants react very badly to that, it causes poor root development. Aphid-infested plants wilt, not because the aphids have taken water out but because the plant has a problem picking water up from the soil.

Then there's a mould problem from the honeydew. This is where aphids on the leaf above have produced a drop of sap from their rear end and it's fallen on the leaf below. That evaporates and becomes pure sugar, black moulds then develop which kill the leaf.

They also transmit plant virus diseases from sick plants to healthy plants.

Is there any way to stop them coming?

Put aluminium foil down between the rows of your plants - this deceives the aphid into thinking it is flying towards the sky! It works well!

Crowd the plants - grow them closer together. It may not be good for the plant but will certainly keep aphids down.

Keep weeds between the rows - aphids are attracted by bare soil and if you have little seedlings growing in the bare soil that's where the aphids will go.

How fast do they breed?

They reproduce asexually - populations can double in four or five days. One minute you see one aphid, a few days later the plant is plastered!

hi, haven't found any plants yet but thought this might be useful!

Color Scheme Dilemma!?

All right, I'm lost.

I've decided to overhaul my old color scheme for a new one.

The old color scheme: deep reds, earthy greens, warm golds, and rustic oranges.

The new color scheme: deep, cool browns, fuchsias, cornflower blues, and maybe a splash or two of apple green for an accent.

After saving tons of photos from over the web, I've nailed down the new color scheme and absolutely love it. But I've run into a big problem:

I have a very nicely framed, old movie poster that's sentimental to me. It was a centerpiece in my one room apartment and went PERFECTLY with the old color scheme. I love this poster, but now it's going to stick out like a sore thumb!

How can I make this work? The picture is done in blacks, browns, golds, and warm yellows. For a photo of it, see here: http://www.geocities.com/j_nada/carp/mot...

Help!

Color Scheme Dilemma!?
Could it be repurposed to another room where it will blend better, or at least relocated to a section of wall where it won't receive as much attention?

Another idea would be to get an artwork light with a bulb or gel in one of your colors to cast a tint onto the poster.
Reply:The poster seems to be primarily gold and brown. You are still using brown shades in your new color scheme so I don't see it being an issue. Yes, you are getting away from the gold but I think a creative person as yourself can make it work. Obviously, by collecting the photos from the web, you have the decorating bug in you and you know what looks good. If you hang this poster on a wall that is not the focal point of your room, I think it will look great. Since this poster has sentimental value to you, you should hang it and enjoy it.
Reply:Perhaps if you re-matted it in something that went with both the image and the color scheme of the room it would work.

I want to get a couple potted flowers for the front porch...?

and I'd like to be able to bring them indoors during winter and have them survive on to next spring and so on. My porch is mostly shaded and I live in the midwest. What would be a good choice? Exotic looking flowers would be great (I love Fuchsias, I keep those in my backyard)

Thank you in advance :)

I want to get a couple potted flowers for the front porch...?
you could try impatiences and begonias
Reply:Just about any "house plant" can live nicely outside in the summer, and then want to come in for the winter!

Is it safe to put my hanging baskets out? southern england?

ive got them ready as well as my pots and planters. all filled with petunias busy lizzies fuchsias etc.im off on holiday soon and i'd like to get them all in situ ready for my neighbour to care for them.

Is it safe to put my hanging baskets out? southern england?
"Never before the 1st of June" is the general rule to avoid frost. You could put them out now but just keep an eye on the weather forecast in case there is another frost. If so take them down and put in the garage for the night. Any frosts we get now will not be hard so something like a garage will be warm enough.
Reply:My dad lives in the south and put his out this weekend, there is always a chance of frost in may, so maybe buy some horticultural fleece(d.i.y shops and garden centres, it is not expensive and can be used again for next year) which can be used to cover them if a frost is forecast and it will mean you can leave them where they are and it would be easier for you neighbour! :)
Reply:I wouldn't risk it just yet, we may still get a late frost, I have known it happen on more than one occasion. Give it another couple of weeks, or until the beginning of June to be really safe.
Reply:I live in Yorkshire and i put mine up yesterday, so i think you soft souterners should be ok ;)

Just keep an eye on the forecast though and any sign of a nighttime chill, pop 'em in the greenhouse or garage.
Reply:Why wouldn't it be safe?

Edit-Aha, I'm from California, the hot sunny part, so frost in May is foreign to me. I do love England though and hope to come over some day.
Reply:Yes they should be fine to put out, if any frost ( which I doubt )

only the Bizzy lizzies will really suffer because they are water based.
Reply:I have always reckoned that once we are into May, frost tender plants should be OK - I'm in Worcestershire
Reply:yes mine bin out 4 wile now

Which clutch is cuter to go with a little black dress?

It's for a ball, i'm 18. Please say which you prefer (if any) and why, thanks for your help!

Which clutch is cuter to go with a little black dress?
They are all nice. :)

1. The colour is too bright for a black dress, so it wouldn't look as classy for your ball.

2. It's looks ok.

3. Looks GREAT! Very cute, feminine and sophisticated. The colour will look very good against the black dress.

Yeah, I'd go with number 3.

Goodluck and have fun at your ball!
Reply:The first is v tacky and looks like something my 10 yr old sister has, the second and third are both nice, depends on colour of your eyes/accessories you will be wearing if any. River island have some very nice simple silver metalic clutches that go great with a balck dress.
Reply:try to go for something not bright and drastic if i had to chose it would be the second one but other ideas are

maybe one of these in a solid black or light pink or maybe red

http://www.forever21.com/search.asp?keyw...
Reply:The first one is adorable. The purple and gold together really make a statement with a black dress. All eyes will be on you if you choose the first one.
Reply:The second one can definitely accent the black dress very nicely. I love the glittery-ish flower on it too, really nice.
Reply:I love the 3 one its the cutest!!! And with a black dress its going to look great and glamorous.
Reply:3 is just a load of dresses???

2 is better than 1 though dont like pink on 1 looks tacky to me
Reply:1st one! It's metallic and adorable! The color contrast would look amazing. But the other one is really cute too!
Reply:The turquoise would be cute with a metallic shoe!
Reply:The first, because I don't like the flower on the second one, and the third link isn't working.
Reply:3rd clutch, it is the most classy
Reply:i like the second one. the first one is vile and the third one is a picture of dresses?
Reply:it doesnt show thethird one and personally i think they have to much detail

Hope it helps x
Reply:the second one...its cute and sparkly! which adds more detail and volume to your dress.

Need to find cute chair for my room?

well im getting a new bed (pic= http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t132/... )

and it has a cot sized removable futon thingy. the thing is, the mattress doesnt come with it and its $100 extra. AND the only colors it comes in are red and black. and that would go horribly with my room:[[

Sooo.... im not even going to bother with the futon thingy and i'll put a chair in its place..

i just dont know what i want.

my room is designed with the colors of my comforter ( http://cheapdiva.typepad.com/the_cheap_d... )

so i want something pink/fuchsia, orange, yellow etc.

and kinda mod if possible:]

i am willing to spend up to $150-175

please and thank you

Heidi

Need to find cute chair for my room?
Heidi here are some options for you

option 1: A nice white arm chair would actually do nicely in your room and match well with your comforter even though you want something with the colors of your comforter.

Option 2. http://www.pbteen.com/products/p3190/ind... Its polka dot so it'll match the pink but depending on your comforter pattern it may or may not work.

Option 3: http://www.pbteen.com/products/p2692/ind... it has a french feel and I know you want something that's mod but this chair here you can take with you if you move out and it wouldn't be heavy to carry and it comes in pink.

Option 4: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/produc... Pink and very versitile. Your only problem is that most arm chairs your gonna find are more highly priced than $150-175

Is 12/13 too young to wear heels like these? pics!?

These are just example of heel sizes I'm talking about. I'm really good in heels, and my mom and sister say I'm old enough, but I feel like people will think I'm "Trying to look older than I am". I look old, but I'm only twelve. I really found some shoes I like... but I'm afraid people will think I'm too little. Should I worry, or just buy them?

Is 12/13 too young to wear heels like these? pics!?
OMG!! Me too exactaly!!! Exept I'm 13. I wear stuff like that, and some ppl say I look too old, others say I look cute. Just be u. That's what works for me! Hope this helps! P.S. Try Target: www.target.com
Reply:No, not at all! Go for it girl!

You could definately go a bit higher, because people only say "you are trying to look older than you are" when people dress high heels with the wrong clothes.

Remember show either your legs or more of your chest, NEVER do both. Thats what my mum n sister have always said to me and its so true!

You can always get away with higher heals with skinny jeans and the combination look great too!!!
Reply:Low heels like that are just fine for a girl your age!

If you are worried about people thinkin you are trying to look older then just wear them when you wear a dress or something nice or when u have to dress up. But they could still look really cute with jeans and a cute top, so I say don't worry what other people will think, if you like them then go for it!
Reply:the second pair is ok put it with a nice dress or maybe slacks with a suit maybe...put the first is for an older woman in her 20s-40s maybe first 50s or a stripper or a pedifile target if you want...the last is for elderly women in their mid to 60s %26amp; up

for 12-13 girls wear those stack heels, small wedges like the second pair or a kitten heel...
Reply:I think if you like them and you fit them, then you can wear them. I don't think shoes are a big deal unless they are way too high... I don't see anything wrong with the ones you listed. Just don't go all Miley Cyrus on us. maybe a females perspective would be better. hope that helps.
Reply:Don't worry! The first pair are cute, and pretty age appropriate. The second pair are definately adorable, I might buy them for myself! However on the third pair, they have an ankle strap. Now, I'm not one to be very fond of ankle straps because it cuts your leg off from your foot giving your legs a short and fat look to them. Hope this helps :]
Reply:They are too cute. And lthey look appropriate for a young lady. The heels are really not high at all. I have a 9 year old daughter who is 5"3 and I would let her wear all of these...as a matter of fact, I think I will order her the mini wedge.

Very tasteful.
Reply:These are probably the best heels you could get they are wedges which give more support. If you wear shoes like that you will probably get many of complements. Those are the perfect size heel too.Don't worry nobody will think you are trying to look older
Reply:No, you are not too young. Those heels are cute, you should even get higher wedges. Who cares what people think? As long as you like how you look, do it. The next time someone says that "Your're trying to look older" just say "Hey, at least Im trying to look good."
Reply:umm yea i think the 3rd pair is maybe a little old for u, but the first ones i think are reallly cute and they arent even high, they are just little wedges. i just dont think u should wear them like everywhere if ur only 12. just wear them to parties and stuff
Reply:Those are definantly fine for you to wear at the age of 12/13. They are wedges so they dont really look like they are too old for you. Buy em!
Reply:You can buy them!! Your too young for stilletoes(sp?) but nobody should say anything about these shoes:)
Reply:No not those type of heels. As long as they aren't three inches high and stilettos you'll be fine. xD

Those are really cute by the way!
Reply:Those are ADORABLE and anyone who says you are too young or any other ...pshhhhaw on them!

They are DEF age appropriate.
Reply:They;re really nice for your age. Don't wear heels any higher than that though. Nice shoes!
Reply:well im 13 an my mum want let me but hey my mum doesnt let me go 2 town %26gt;:( so i would were them
Reply:Those are perfectly fine for your age. There not too high since your already tall.
Reply:there fine im 13 and i wear heels like that all the time dont worry about what people say dont worry about rumors
Reply:Those are sooo cute! They are def age appropriate.
Reply:No your not too young.
Reply:omg those r perfect for ur age, when I was ur age I wore those too their so cute %26lt;33333333333 but now I wear a lot higher heels. The first one is the cutest u should probably get that one. enjoy!
Reply:wow yewr tall im like 5'2 5'3

but yea those will be okay:D
Reply:im 13 and i think tht we can wear those kind of heels
Reply:no i luv them im 12 too. im gonna buy the payless ones i think
Reply:just buy them
Reply:totally buy them!!!!!!! they are a perfect heel for your age! go for it!
Reply:LOVE THEM im ur age and those r perfect! dont go any higher
Reply:no. they are not that high. They would be good for your age

Decor question?

We are planning to get married in a castle in England we were thinking pink and green for colors, my friend owns a linen company so I purchase all of my linens from her. I have narrowed it down to 3 different choices for these colors (overlay and tablecloth). Any opinions (please ignore the chair covers as I think its silly to waste time and money on chair covers with nice chairs, but we will get matching cushions)

1.a. http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/bridal/b...

b. http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/bridal/b...

2. a. http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/bridal/b...

b. http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/bridal/b...

3. a. http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/bridal/b...

b. http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/bridal/b...

For 3 there would only be a solid sage green table cloth, no terrible fuchsia.

Decor question?
I like 3. Pink would be overload I think, as tablecloths. Whereas a room full of the green would be easy on the eyes.
Reply:I love the 3rd one. The sage green would be long like the fushia in the picture right--not short?

I think the 3rd one is perfect. Very garden, vines. The first two are all crystal and make me think of doll house and Cinderella theme (which I am sooooo over). But the third one resembles the handmade renaissance feel that the castle has. I think thats the CLEAR winner. Plus it has both pink and green as opposed to just pink. I always feel when brides decorate the entire place in pink that half the guests (and the groom) are feeling terribly uncomfortable.
Reply:If you are having an outside reception, then #3. If it will be inside a castle, then I think that 2 fits the whole castle "royal" thing. The small chair covers on those are nice too.
Reply:I love the 2nd one - the "Aaron Delesie" one. Not over the top, yet not so small that you can't see it either.

Good luck, and Congratulations!
Reply:I'm jealous......a real castle?

Number 2 looks elegant and regal.

Did I say I'm jealous? Do you need someone to go along and assist? ;)

best wishes.......................
Reply:I like #2
Reply:The first one, but the 3rd is more garden theme,
Reply:Honestly, I like all 3! #2 does have a bit more of an elegant feel to it.

What would you rather buy? *pics* =]?
I waaay prefer number 1. It's just that I personally really don't like the number 2 shirt, and the bags not amazing either.. Number ones chocker is really cute and chic, and will go with everything.

NUmber one is way better.

Happy early birthday, btw.

=)
Reply:tiffany
Reply:none, they are all ridicilously expensive and not worth the money.
Reply:i think the jewelry and the bag are boooooring. but those 2 shirts are cute i like the long sleeve one best
Reply:I'm not a bif fan of either of the shirts, but I like the first one better. The Tiffany necklace is really pretty and it's also timeless so you could have it forever and it would never go out of style. The purse is really pretty (I liked green and brown) but I would go with the first choice, the pink shirt and the Tiffany necklace.
Reply:i much prefer the first one because it i funner and every girl deserves a Tiffany necklace!

the second was kinda boring and coach isnt as in as it was a couple of years ago

i would go for the first
Reply:I personally like the necklace the best, and between the 2 shirts the first one. So, I guess #1. Why does it matter what we think? You probably have a favorite you were going to ask for anyway.
Reply:i would pick number 1 because it has 2 things.

the shirt is cute if you layer %26amp; match it w/ something.

%26amp; the tiffany's necklace is adorable %26amp; goes w/ almost

anything.
Reply:i would either go with the coach bag or tiffany jewelery! but if you get the coach bag, i would get the pink color! Good Luck!
Reply:i like the bag and tiger shirt the most.
Reply:I would definitely ask for the coach bag in pink. They're great bags and they last forever. A bag is also a lore more practical than a necklace. As for the shirts, I don't really like either of them but the first one is better.
Reply:#1, the shirt looks better and tiffany's is classic, never goes out of style and you can wear it with anything.
Reply:I would pick the coach bag because i think you would get the most wear out of it and it would last the longest, besides....its EXTREMELY cute!! :)
Reply:number one because i am not really a big fan of the bag, i mean i just kinda don't like it, but i love the necklace
Reply:Well i am in LOVE with Coach and Tiffany's so i think you should do either one of those!
Reply:ok the shirts you picked are not worth the price you can find something really similar to them at dillards for like $50

And for the purse coach is wayyyy overrated i think personally

I think the necklace is a very cute touch an dI love tiffany's =D
Reply:#1 It is soooooo cute and the jewlry makes it even better
Reply:I wasn't that keen on the tops im afraid.. and i thought the tiffany necklace was nice but i would rather go for the bag as i love them.. i liked it in green as it made it more fun
Reply:number 1!

like that shirt betterr

and tiffany necklace goes with everything while the purse bag goes in and out of style seasonally

Makeup ideas??

so i have this horse show coming up and i need ideas for makeup...

im wearing a fuchsia show jacket with black pants and slinky.

so how should i do my makeup?? oh and if you want to see a picture of me to see what colors could look good on me go to one of my previous questions about haircuts

Makeup ideas??
I can't see pictures cause your profile is set to private. but i would just go with the natural color look. its best not to wear too much make-up and look fake. Stick with browns and mascarra, and then lip gloss.

EDIT!!!

You are soooo pretty!!!

but I wouldnt wear eye liner, it will smudge if you get sweaty or anything like that. I would just put a light brown eye shadow on and then some mascarra, and then some lipgloss. you are really pretty, don't put a lot of make-up on, let your natural beauty stand out from the rest of the world.

good luck!
Reply:Sweet deal, horses and makeup!

Right. So, pretty much it's common knowledge that wearing a ton of makeup does not impress ANYONE around a barn or a show-- it's more important for your horse to look good! I can tell you, whenever someone sets food on the property and they've got eyeliner and mascara and lipstick and blush on... we all just grimace.

It doesn't even look like you need makeup. Just put on a little mascara, and if you need something to even out your skin tone, do that and NOTHING more. You want to look clean and tidy, not like you're going out with friends. Unless it's dressage or westerm, in which case, you want to do a little bit more.

Good luck!

You get strength after you get the gold teeth to the man in fuschia city. he is at the bottom of the city. you have to go through the safari zone to find the teeth. the old man will give you the HM.

Surf is at the end of the safari zone.
Reply:umm u get strength from the warden after u find his gold teeth in safari zone and u get surf inside the safari zone when u find the secret house

Are these boots cute or trashy?

Keep in mind that the real ones will be much darker...

Are these boots cute or trashy?
I'd say they're a little of both. It all depends on what you wear them with and how you do your hair and makeup, what accesories you wear, etc. You could make them as cute or as trashy as you want. But since they're so dramatic, just be sure that you wear the boots and don't let the boots wear you :p
Reply:unless your going in to the hooker industry, they are soo trashy
Reply:wats the address for the boots
Reply:The material especially makes them look too trashy to wear... outside of the bedroom!
Reply:trashy
Reply:depends on how you wear them, if you wear them with jeans, they could be really cute, but if your going to wear them with shorts or a skirt then its trashy.
Reply:trashy
Reply:i like um..ther different!
Reply:Trashy for sure.
Reply:wow. trashy as hell.

Flowers for my hair - should I use real or artificial - I'm confused?

I'm wearing my hair half up, half down and I want orchids (my wedding flower) in my hair. I'll probably have them on the side by my ear. Here's a photo of how it will look but my orchids will be fuchsia.

http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b207/b...

Here's the thing:

My florist included fresh orchids for my hair in my flower package and he said that if the hairstylist needs them wired or whatever to just let him know. But I'm going to have so much going on that day, that I really don't want to have to think about picking up the fresh orchids.

I've made hair clips before with artificial flowers. Should I just do that instead? Would you think it's weird if all of the flowers at the reception are real and the only thing fake is in my hair?

UGH! And then matching it properly to the real ones. I don't know what to do.

Flowers for my hair - should I use real or artificial - I'm confused?
Definitely do artificial flowers. You wont have to worry about matching perfecting, because no one is going to hold your bouquet up to your hair and say, "hey, that looks a shade off!!

You wont have to worry about picking up fresh flowers that morning, or worry about the flowers wilting. Artifical flowers will look wonderful the whole day.

Beautiful style by the way!! I might steal it for my wedding, since I'm looking at hair styles.
Reply:I think you should go with the real flowers- silk dont look as nice, assign a bridesmaid or family member to be in charge of getting the flowers to you on time!

congrads
Reply:I would wear artificial because in your hair the real ones could wilt and not look so stunning later in the day. If they don't match 100%, but are close, I wouldn't worry, the rest of your flowers and your hair shouldn't come next to each other at all.
Reply:ok, fresh flowers that are wired will wilt in no time and won't look good all day! go with the silks, it doesn't matter if they don't match the real ones because you aren't going to be standing holding your bouquet up to your head, lol, or with your head beside floral arrangements period!

the silks are gorgeous, they will be gorgeous all day and it will be one less thing for you to worry about sweetie. ignore the florist on this one, just pop into michael's crafts or another shop and pick up a branch of orchids. your hair dresser can make it work for you and no one will be able to tell the difference between silk and fresh - especially in your hair.

p.s. the silk has the added bonus of not giving off a scent that will be in your face - so to speak! less chance of a headache!

have a great wedding and a happy marriage!
Reply:Whatever is easier for you! I think that no matter what it is an absolutely gorgeous hair style and will look just as beautiful if the flowers are real or not!
Reply:Delegate dear! You are the bride. Do you have Bride maids? If not a friend that can help out? If so have one of them swing by and pick up your perfectly matched/real orchids for your beautiful hairstyle. Don't forever look at your wedding photos and say, "ugh those fake orchids did not match...I wish I would have gotten the real ones".

Cogratulations on your wedding.
Reply:personal opinion, its ok to wear artificial if it's only one like the pic.

imagine having a natural flower... in your hair.!!

by the time of reception.. it may not hold up as good as artificial.

i would wear one
Reply:The florist is going to be on location that day anyways to drop off your bouquet so why cant he drop off the flowers then?
Reply:I would do the silk flowers. Like you said, you are going to have a lot going on that day, and by the end of the day the real flowers will start to wilt. If you have the silk, the will look fresh all day.
Reply:I would use the artificial flowers, they Do Not have to match perfectly, in fact I believe it would be better if it did not. The one thing I have found when doing wedding hair is, Not too big with the flowers in hair. Keep it on the smaller side and just blend it with the rest of the flowers. Hope I helped!
Reply:i would use silk flowers. real flowers pose all sorts of problems (from the pollen falling into your hair and making it look like you have dandruff, to them wilting because they're next to the heat of your head)......

either will look great, and i LOVE your hairstyle.

I can't decide what color braces bands i should get... can u help me?

ok. im 12. i have brownish blonde hair and brown eyes.. what 2 colors will look good on me? i am thinking about fuchsia and lime green... any thoughts?

I can't decide what color braces bands i should get... can u help me?
there are allot of colors to pick from.. and ill pick the one you don't have to pick

red = because it looks like you have gingivitis

neon colors, = it can be col at times but it does not look normal

glow in the dark = sounds nice, but your lil sis wil lbe scared at you in the night when you'll go down for a drink

try some colors before you put it in, tell your dentist "what are my options?" and look for the one that fits you best
Reply:I remember when I had braces. I would always get them colors for the nearest big holiday. Or do you have a favorite sports team? Also if you're on a team, it's good to have those colors.
Reply:go ahead and try it, usually, no colors look that bad...just avoid yellow because from far away, it gives a dirty, unbrushed appearance. If you don't like the fuchsia and lime green, you can always change it
Reply:id get black.. dats just my opinion
Reply:Fushsia sounds very nice - it is eye appealing %26amp; probably look very nice with your features.

If you get sick of that color after awhile, you could always change it or do what I did when I had braces - I wore multiple colors at the same time - had to wear 6 of them to correct my bite :)
Reply:What about pink and lime green?

Can you read my book report and tell me how it is? thanks. its supposed to be a page long and it is. thanks!?

Paine Underwood always does the right thing. Even if he does it the wrong way. He knows that Dust Muleman is dumping the waste from his casino boat, the Coral Queen into the waters of the Florida Keys. Paine couldn’t take it any longer, and he sunk the boat. He didn’t even deny it. He sat in a folding chair on the beach, and watched the Coral Queen sink under the polluted water. It wasn’t a well thought out plan. Dusty and his workers had business back as usual in a matter of days. Dusty dumps the waste from the toilets into the water every night, just to save money. People can’t even swim in the water, because it is so polluted. Kids are getting sick, and because Dusty didn’t want to pay to have the waste properly discarded. With Paine stuck In jail, refusing to be bailed out, because he is making a stand, the only person left to do something about it is his son, Noah Underwood. Noah and his sister, Abbey, won’t let Dust keep this up. They devise a plan. A plan that could go terribly wrong. One mistake could give them up. And with Luno guarding the boat, stopping at nowhere to make sure Dusty’s plan is kept under wraps, it seems almost impossible. But with the help from an inside worker, Shelly, it just may work. Abbey and Noah sneak into the boat with an excessive amount of fuchsia food coloring. They sneak into the bathrooms and flush the food coloring down. They almost made it out without a scratch, almost. Luno and Dusty find them and chase them. They catch a dingy and try to get away. Just as they think it’s over, their Grandpa Bobby, one whom they believed dead, came to their rescue. He may be old, but he sure knows how to punch. Abbey and Noah got way, and after many hours of trying to get away, their boat dies. A thunderstorm hits. Nothing seems to be going right. They wait out the storm, and eventually are rescued by their parents and grandfather. Their dad managed to escape jail, and the guards were relieved to be rid of him. All he had to do was pay for the damage. Noah called the coast guard and informed them of what Dusty was doing, and told them to go to Thunder Beach. As Noah and his family arrived there, the water was a bright purple. The plan had succeeded. Dusty had gone to jail, and the world was right again.

Can you read my book report and tell me how it is? thanks. its supposed to be a page long and it is. thanks!?
Don't forget to double space after periods in an essay!

Paine Underwood always does the right thing even if he does it the wrong way. One sentence not two!

A plan that could go terribly wrong is a fragment

Place a semi-colon in front of the phrase. Make it say,

They devise a plan; A plan that could go terribly wrong.

He sat in a folding chair on the beach, and watched the Coral Queen sink under the polluted water. comma splice- ditch the comma or add a 'he' infront of watched.

Instead of 'And with Luno guarding the boat,....'

Say, 'With Luno guarding the boat stopping at nothing to make sure Dusty's plan is kept under wraps (one word or two?)

You may also want to try and get rid of any 'be' verbs (is, am, were). By ridding your essay of those words, it makes your words stronger.

I am reading through it again to catch the rest! I just glanced this first time! Give me a couple of minutes!

More!

Dusty dumps the waste from the toilets into the water every night, just to save money. ~

~This sentence doesn't need the comma!

can't- break contractions down in writing - actually you are expanding a contraction! Anyways, use cannot!

Kids are getting sick, and because Dusty didn’t want to pay to have the waste properly discarded.

take out the ", and" leave the because (no comma).

With Paine stuck In jail, refusing to be bailed out, because he is making a stand, the only person left to do something about it is his son, Noah Underwood.

There is too much information in this sentence. You may want to consider rewording it.

Noah and his sister, Abbey, won’t let Dust keep this up.

You accidentally misspelled Dusty in this sentence! Oops!

MAKE SURE YOU STAY IN THE SAME TENSE! When you write about literature, every event is in the present tense.

Read this outloud to yourself. It will help you make it flow easier.

Also, pretend that you have never read the story before. It confused me when you talk about Paine sinking the Coral Queen and then Dusty having his business back to normal, and then you go back to what the pollution does to people. Paine going to jail just magically appears. How did he get caught?

Just for the record I am not saying that this is bad! I feel like I am overloading you with information! I can say more, so please let me know if you want more help. :) ~Jenn
Reply:Do you mean ~

"Will you..."? [Of course we all can read!]

Aloha from Down Unda!

'...stopping at nowhere...'

maybe should be, '...stopping at nothing...' [?]

"Abbey and Noah sneak into the boat with an excessive amount of fuchsia food coloring. They sneak into the bathrooms and..."

How about ~

"Abbey and Noah sneak onto the boat with an excessive amount of fuchsia food coloring, proceed into the toilets and..."

maybe one too many 'sneak's too close together...[?]

Same with almost/almost

Seems somewhat long but spose it's part of the "plan"?

Best wishes

I'm designing a dance costume which is from both, Indian and Arabian culture. I'm having trouble fitting the colours into separate categories because both cultures contain all the colours.

When Virgin Media is installed, does it require digging up the garden to lay the cable, or is it fed through?

Just wondering about this, because we have a massive fuchsia in our front garden.

When Virgin Media is installed, does it require digging up the garden to lay the cable, or is it fed through?
hahaha thats if they even bother to bury it theyve left ours just trailing down the street and now they want to charge 75 quid to come back and finish the job they should have done in the first place!
Reply:in your case then they will use a satellite
Reply:Can't you put the fuchsia in a pot while they dig up the garden? lol
Reply:They may nail to to a fence. Its only optics and so no need to bury it.

We inherited cable at our last house, i ripped it out just by grabbing the wire and walking down the length of the garden pulling the cable from the fence as I went - a really rubbish installation job.
Reply:in our case they dug a shallow trench and laid the cable in strong ducting. They will try and take a direct route from the connection point in the road. watch over them though because they prefer to make it easy on themselves. I had to call them back because it was poorly done.
Reply:When NTL as it was called 5 years ago installed ours we just had a cable with some slack in it laid over the soil between the road and the house. You can bury it if you want we were told. Still have not got around to doing it!
Reply:Ours was done many many years ago, when they were known as Yorkshire Cable... even before Telewest..

They just opened a slit trench and layed the cable in there.. once closed, it was almost invisible... only on the concrete path in front of the window was there any sign of work being done.
Reply:They dug a trench up the garden where the cable was going it isnt buried deep though

Name of deciduous, oval leafed shrub, clusters of dark pink, waxy, 1" stellar flower, blue sphere in center

what is the name of a deciduous, tropical or semi-tropical, oval leafed shrub that produces panicles of deep pink (fuchsia colored), waxy /succulent looking stellar ( pointed star shaped)shaped flowers, around one inch diameter, with a blue, spherical/ berry-like in the center of each flower? Can provide photo to post somewhere if needed for identification. Saw this plant in temperate-semi tropical area in N. Italy and told it was not native, a sub-tropical plant.

Scanner question?

I bought a new Canon (LiDe 25) scanner. While scanning I noticed that Dark Pink (Fuchsia) color changed to light mauve (purplish) %26amp; Red slightly changes to Orange tone in the scanned picture. I tried all software setting in photoshop %26amp; canon scan gear but the color variations won't go. I received the same picture from my client, it is showing exactly similar colors, as per the object scanned. Thus it proves the monitor (samsung TFT) is displaying color okay.

My question is that, incase there is some technical problem in the scanner, want exactly it can be %26amp; is it expensive to fix ? Advise from professionals anticipated.

Thanking you all in advance.

Scanner question?
Sounds like the scanner is bad. That usually happens after years of scanning when the scan head is going bad. Return it and get yourself an HP scanner. They're the only brand of scanner I've never had a problem with in 12 years.
Reply:return it and get something else.

This is for the flower growers???

i recently bought a fuchsia tree pant....i live in ny....can i plant it anywhere outside and will it blossom next year?????

This is for the flower growers???
No. It will not survive your winters and might not even survive being inside your home. Fuchsias require warm locations with filtered light, moist soil conditions, and humidity levels between 40 and 80 percent. If you can't naturally provide that then they will not do their best.
Reply:Since you bought the tree in NY it should be a plant that is good for your planting region. I haven't seen many of them planted in the NY area, the winters are really harsh on alot of plants. You best bet is to call and ask the plant store you bought it from. They are sure to know the specific species that you bought at their store and could tell you if it is a hardy plant that can handle the cold winters.
Reply:Sorry but the fuchsia tree is not hardy in your zone. It's hardy to Zone 9 %26amp; can take temps down to -7 C. Your area gets colder than this in Sept - Oct. (-7 C is approx 20 F) Keep it potted, bring it inside after Sept 15th %26amp; cut down on it's water. When you bring it inside spray it down with soapy water %26amp; check it thoroughly for insects %26amp; it should be with you for many years.
Reply:What you have a nice mature fuchsia that's been trained and trimmed into a tree shape. It's the same as a rose "tree" or a rosemary "tree."

Follow Deslotre's advice and bring it inside when the weather turns cool.
Reply:i have never heard of a fuchsia tree

however, fuchsia will not survive your winters outside

bring it in before the first frost, keep it near an east-facing window
Reply:I live in UPSTATE NY and have a HUGE fuchsia "tree"... I have it inside in the fall and winter because it cannot survive below 45 degree temps... However, in the summer, (about Mid May after the threat of frost is GONE) I bring the plant outside (have to drag it because it is way too big to carry)..and put it next to my garden in the direct sunlight... IT thrives and gets thick and full and flowers DO grow, however, only one flower at a time, and each flower only lasts a day... Then, come mid September, I drag it back into the house and put it next to a special DAY LIGHT I had to buy for my parrot.. both enjoy the "day light" lamp. (it's a special light bulb I purchased at my vet because my Macaw needed more light in the room he is in.

Why are some people convinced that indigo is in the rainbow?

Stop being such a colorblind asshat and admit that you're wrong! Indigo is blue; there is absolutely no reason to give it its own special place in the rainbow. What should we put in the rainbow next - fuchsia? Chartreuse? I remember arguing with my teacher about this in first grade, and I'm still right.

Look here: "It is commonly thought that indigo was included due to the different religious connotations of the numbers six and seven at the time of Isaac Newton's work on light, despite its lack of scientific significance and the poor ability of humans to distinguish colours in the blue portion of the visual spectrum." Ha! I was right! It was put there by the Fundies, just like "under god" in the pledge of allegiance.

Idiots.

Why are some people convinced that indigo is in the rainbow?
I blame Roy G. Biv!
Reply:negative. indigo IS in the rainbow as part of the distinguishable color spectrum. the actual rainbow follows the pattern ROY G BIV. this stands for:

Red

Orange

Yellow

Green

Blue

Indigo

Violet

And no, indigo is NOT blue, they are distinguishable accross the spectrum as more than just a shade difference. In fact, the inclusion of indigo in the rainbow occurred MUCH later than the religious fundamental movement in the renaissance, so moot point there.
Reply:Roy G. Biv is a good friend of mine as well,

Enjoy the rainbow, something like that shouldn't upset you so bad!
Reply:Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain

Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet

Because of the "In"

Maybe if I put it on my web site that will make it true also.

I like the idea of adding pink
Reply:because it is
Reply:rainbows are formed by light passing through drops of rain. like a prism the drolet separates white light into the spectrum colors of which indigo is a part.
Reply:u're soooo aggressive, by the way, indigo is in the rainbow
Reply:Indigo is in the rainbow, and so is Chartreuse. Fuchsia however is not in the rainbow. The reason is because the rainbow produces all visible colors that require only one spectral peak or no saturation. But some colors like Fuchsia require two spectral peaks, or if you like saturation. You also won't see white in the rainbow because it requires 3 spectral peaks, nor will you see black with 0 spectral peaks.

Fuchsia is a red-blue color, while chartreuse is a red-green color. All red green colors are possible, but not red-blue colors.

Definition of Indigo: "The hue of that portion of the visible spectrum lying between blue and violet, evoked in the human observer by radiant energy with wavelengths of approximately 420 to 450 nanometers; a dark blue to grayish purple blue."

Indigo is a Hue and therefore it corresponds to a color within the rainbow.

There are also infrared colors, and ultraviolet colors in the rainbow, but you can't see them.
Reply:Because we do not want to accept the gay rainbow.
Reply:According to the "Encarta Dictionary", your teacher was right.

Indigo

A deep purplish-blue colour that lies toward one end of the visible spectrum, between blue and violet, also called indigo blue
Reply:It looks like purple.
Reply:Good picture - very lifelike

Richard Of York Gained Battle In Vain.

What do you think the "I" stands for? Irridescence? Igloo? Indigo?
Reply:the whole spectrum of visible light is in a rainbow, from wavlengths of about 390 to 650 nanometers. The cutoff points that we define as the colors of the rainbow are completly arbitrary, there could be 10 thousand colors as easily as the ROYGBIV standard most people learn. However, as far as colors the human eyes can detect, you may just have a point. I am sure that there are some peopel out there with practice who can spot the difference between indigo and violet and blue, and I bet they work in a paint store.
Reply:Dispersion of visible light produces the colors red (R), orange (O), yellow (Y), green (G), blue (B), indigo (I), and violet (V). It is because of this that visible light is sometimes referred to as ROY G. BIV. (Incidentally, the indigo is not actually observed in the spectrum but is traditionally added to the list so that there is a vowel in Roy's last name.)
Reply:Indigo is a deep blue just a little lighter than navy, the color came by its name because of the indians (that is native to India) where they made a deep blue dye out of a fruit native to that area. Idiot!

Tough desision...YOU PICK?

I am looking to give my hair more of an edge so I am going to use Loreal Paris color rays but cant decide what color to use....red rays or fuchsia flash??!! help and I might use ur desision go to http://www.lorealparis.ca/en/haircolor/i...

to see the two color and all 5 colors!! =D

Tough desision...YOU PICK?
Fuchsia flash! I think red highlights have already been done a lot. Fuchsia highlights are something different, that's for sure. Just make sure you are really positive you want to highlight your hair -- highlighting/dying your hair does cause damage. The decision is ultimately up to you! I hope you like whatever you pick.
Reply:it really depends on what your hair color is now. if your hair is brown, try red. if your hair is blond, try fuscia. trust me, the fuscia in blonde hair looks really cool.
Reply:red's been done too many times...

be different!
Reply:omg DO NOT DO YOUR OWN HIGHLIGHTS IF YOU HAVE DARK HAIR...IT WILL TURN ORANGE.I PROMISE..IF ITS LIGHT..HIGHLIGHT AWAY...ID SAY RED CUZ ITS MORE VERSATILE...FUCHSIA IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A HAIRCOLOR..ITS SUPPOSED TO BE A CRAYON COLOR.

I am considering reglazing my bath tubs...?

We have two bath tubs in the house we bought. Tub #1 is a cast-iron pink tub, and tub #2 is a super-sized acrylic of the most hideous shade of fuchsia that you can imagine. We'd like to reglaze them white. Has anyone had experience reglazing tubs --- how well does it work on cast-iron vs acrylic?

We're also considering having the surrounding ceramic tile reglazed to match the white color. Ever do this? How did it turn out? Did you do it yourself or hire someone?

I am considering reglazing my bath tubs...?
We hired someone to do it (the evenness of the coating is better that way) and it worked really well on the ceramic tile. Our cast-iron tub has peeled a little around the drain, though. I don't know about the acrylic. Other than the part around the drain, it still looks really good nearly 5 years later.
Reply:The materials used are hazardous so this is a job for professionals! As with most refinishing jobs the prep work is very important. Look in Yellow pages under "Tub refinishing" or "Tile refinishing". Ask for references from other customers and call them and ask for their opinion.

Works well on either cast or acrylic if applied properly. Be careful not to drop hard objects in tub as it will chip easier than original surface. Follow your installers instructions on cleaning.

Makeup to go with a silky pink dress??

i have a dance tomorrow and im wearing a silky fuchsia pink dress with black lace under and above the bust area it goes to a lil before my knees and is ironed to be like pleated... its kinda hard to explain but yeah OH and im going to be wearing super tall heels (which is saying something considering im a bit tall) but anyways... i have no idea how to do my makeup! help much appreciated :D

Makeup to go with a silky pink dress??
just wear silver colors and pink lipstick
Reply:Black eyeliner, smoky eyes, and light pale pink gloss.
Reply:White, Cream, Lighter Shades of Green, Shades of Blue, Black, Deep Purples, And Sunset Colors (Goldish, Bronze, Orangish) Don't stress over it so much, I'm sure you'll look fine.
Reply:red lip gloss or lipstick, and brown eyeshadow, kinda like a smoky eye maybe?
Reply:I think that a nice black eyeliner and gray eye shadow would look great. Also a pink tinted lip gloss and maybe even a hint of blush! Hope I helped!
Reply:Since your dress is screaming with color, I would do a simple, yet HARD make up look.

1) Use a white color and do your brow bone with it making sure to blend with an eye shadow brush.

2) use a light-medium brown color (I use Shady by H.I.P) and cover the lid going into your crease.

3) use a darker brown color and get a skinny brush and make a medium line on the outter corner of your eye lids. about the width of your pinky.

4) blend with a blending brush going tward your nose, Swipe the brown over and over tward your nose, stopping where your eye brow is in-line with your eye. swipe, dnt circle.

5) use eye liner on the top lid Try liquid, use bookoos of mascara, and I would suggest a nude lip.

Keeping really bright-colored machine washables really bright--got any hints?

I have a cotton jersey wrap top that is a really intense fuchsia color. It's machine-washable, but I really do not want the color to fade. I have a vague memory of my mom putting white vinegar into the rinse water, but I'm not really sure and she's no longer around so I can't ask her. What are your tricks-of-the-trade for keeping bright colors really bright in the wash? Thanks, I appreciate your help.

Keeping really bright-colored machine washables really bright--got any hints?
You can try using the white vinegar, but it can damage some of the newer fabrics and dyes. Wash in cold water alone or with same colors only. Shout Color Catchers help too. Also, use a liquid fabric softener and hang the shirt to dry or dry it flat. The heat from the dryer will fade the fabric. Good luck!

ATTENTION Horse Isle Players!?

I am in ergent need of 13million Horse Isl dollars..

I know its alot :(

If u have ANY money at all please contact me on- fuchsia_is_da_future@hotmail.com.

THANX!

I only play in Cremello.

ATTENTION Horse Isle Players!?
Asking for 13 million dollars is ridiculous. People work hard for there money. There is NO WAY you could be in urgent need, you didn't provide the reason WHY you wanted the money or what you would use it for. It's players like you, lazy, inefficient, that beg and beg instead of buckling down, getting to work on quests, and saving money wisely.

Why is light-pink nailpolish so streaky, & is there a fix?

i love baby pink- it's my favorite color. But the opaque, light pink nailpolishes are ALL streaky- they look horrible. Not those light, light almost transparent ballet pinks, or even any of the metallic , shimmery ones- it's the more opaque ones- the thicker ones (which probably has something to do with it) - but for some reason it's only the light pink to barbie pink colors- not any of the darker, fuchsia ones- the opaque whites do the same thing (again- not the semi-transparent whites- the ones that are used for say, the tip of a french). Is there a fix that anyone knows of (OTHER than applying like 4 coats- which takes way to long to dry, and also just doesn't look right)...

Why is light-pink nailpolish so streaky, %26amp; is there a fix?
I have always had this problem with light colors!! I happens because since the color is so light, when you put it on the excess amount of polish on the brush sort of clumps together and makes streaks that are darker... try doing a couple of coats with a THIN layer of polish, that way there wont be any excess that will clump together and the coats will dry faster. this has generally worked for me so good luck!
Reply:Try sheer pink, I've never had that problem

with sheer nail polishes.

Or something with glitter maybe?

Which prom dress?

Don't comment on how short they are because im short and they look fine on me.

Sorry I dont have pics of them in their actual colors :(

Which prom dress?
I like the turquoise one. The fuchsia one seems a little...plasticy/futuristic. Good Luck! :)
Reply:They're both very cute. The first one looks reminiscent of 80's styles, but it's very sexy looking. On the other hand, the second one is beautiful. I'd say pick based on what you want to go for: if you want to wow a date with hottness #1 but the #2 is good for long-lasting memories of young beauty.
Reply:i like the 1st one best, but it does look like futuristic spacy plastic like some1 else said, so id go with the other 1, #2! but if u dont care if #1 looks that way, then go #1!
Reply:i like the second one and then first one looks like its made out of like a plastic material. plastic is not good on people it makes them look trashy and the second one is more elegant and flirty.
