When you add wine into banana flambe while being heated, pink or almost fuchsia colored flame is produced. Why?

Electrons in the potassium chloride are being excited to higher energy levels, because they are absorbing thermal energy, due to the fire. The energy they absorb to go up one energy level is expressed as follows:

E = nhf

When they go DOWN an energy level, they lose a specific amount of energy, equal to hf, and that energy is emitted as a light. This causes the flame to become a different color. For instance, if you put barium chloride in fire, it will become green.

So to answer your question again, when the electrons lose energy, they emit it in a form of electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength that allows it to be visible light.

Alcohol is a known solvent. Although wine has little alcohol compared to other beverages, that alcohol dissolves some potassium from the banana. The potassium then somehow reacts with a chloride anion to form potassium chloride. Potassium chloride is known for making fire purple. I just looked up the color fuschia online, and I found out that it's kind of like purple. This confirms my answer.

because of the wine

skinny dark jeans will bring attention to the shoes. and if you wear a longer tunic-like shirt, that will look really cute.
Reply:my sister told me to say a fushia plaid skirt and a white button up shirt with fushia beads and some glod hoop earings
Reply:long black tight jeans with a gold seam layerd camies (muroon white and gold) fushia purse

What is the longest lasting hair dye?I'm looking for a fuchsia/raspberry kinda color or purple C:?

I used Nice 'N' Easy and it lasted for over six months on my hair. But, then again, everyone has different hair, so it might not work the same way with you.

I don't know what co lour to put with the pink(fuchsia) that i want to have as the main color at my wedding

I want my main colour to be a fuschia pink, but i don't know what colour to use with it. Also i want to have stargazers as the flowers, but can anybody tell me what other flowers i can use with it?

I don't know what co lour to put with the pink(fuchsia) that i want to have as the main color at my wedding
Why not a cream color to offset the brightness of your main color choice. White, cream, and pink would be lovely. Not sure about the flowers.
Reply:Teal is awesome with it, with maybe ivory. The stargazer lilies will be excellent - talk to your florist about what would complement them.
Reply:Cream or celadon green
Reply:pink, deep pink (fuschia is deep pink in the color wheel) and mauve.
Reply:Stargazers are such bold flowers, you probably don't want other large flowers that will compete with them. Try delphiniums (the pale, not the dark blue), pale pink or white spray roses, artemisia for a silver-toned foliage accent, and heather or something like that (very small, pale pink, bell-like flowers).
Reply:I think that you could use a nice pale pink to go with the fuschia...This would compliment the lilies nicely, I think.

Here's a website that has a few stargazer bouquets, that might give you some ideas on what flowers to mix with them...As I'm looking at it, the deep purple of the blue iris is a nice color combo, too!
Reply:i think you should use white/cream flowers with the fuchsia. and i can imagine seeing some green exotic leaves in with them. also lighter shades of pinks would be great too, or a vibrant orange.
Reply:U can use lemon yellow or silverish white with it, even sky blue. And how bout Orchids?
Reply:a creme, beige or white would look preety and simple

On the red version, when i beat the 5th gim leader at Fuchsia city where do i go next?
You've gotta do the stuff in the Safari Zone to get strength and Surf (find the secret house and the guys teeth) and you buy a drink from the vending machines in celadon city to give to the saffron guards so they let you through. Or if it's fire red theres an old lady in celadon who gives you tea to give them.

You think this dress is better in which color Turquoise or Fuchsia?
I like both, possibly fuschia better. however it is 100% polyester and therefore I would never wear it. synthetic fibres suck.
Reply:If that's a picture of you in your Yahoo avatar, with your skintone you could wear either turquoise or fuchsia easily! :)

But my personal pick would be turquoise, it'll really make your eyes stand out, and contrast well with your skin. You'll turn everyone's head :)
Reply:Turquoise is more in style, and the dress looks really nice in that color. Hard to tell about the fuchsia, but with your coloring I think either would be nice on you!
Reply:It depends....what's your skin tone and your hair color??

I couldn't see the fuchsia on the girl so i'm not really sure how it would look!! But if your avatar is actually you i would say the fuchsia!!
Reply:4 ur avatar fushia will look really pretty on u. i like fushia a lot and i would wear it 2. but if u want a more tonedowned look go with the turqoise hope i helped

look nice with black satin shoes the dress is also satin.

I am getting married march 8,2008 and i have a fuchsia dress for my bridemaids. I wanted to know if it would?
In my humble opinion I think that would look nice. just me
Reply:I would do that, if the jewelry was black too..otherwise, if the jewelry is another color, then I would go with something else, like silver shoes.

OH, and look on www.piperlime.com and www.endless.com for shoes.
Reply:Maybe. If the fushsia dress has some black detailing to it, the black satin shoes would bring it all together very well.

However, if the dress is devoid of any black detailing, I would suggest a dress sandal or shoe in silver or a low key shimmering white.
Reply:March 8th! Wow that's my birthday! When I had my sweet 15 my dress was also Fuchsia and I wore it with a same tone color shoe but mind you it was 15 years ago!!!! I would go with the black... no matter what shade it is black goes with everything so go for it!!!! Congrats and have fun!!!!
Reply:Hm I wouldnt do black satin shoes, maybe silver, gold, or cream. It depends on the shade of fuchsia.
Reply:Sounds great. Try the black then try the silver. My opinion is depends on the time of day. If it's evening I would more go towards the black, if during the day perhaps silver. I would try both to be sure. But black is basic and will go with everything and will be able to be used by your bridesmaids again and again at other events.
Reply:fuchsia is a strong color. if you tie the dress with teh black shoes (like adding a black sash or belt on the dress), it'll look sharp. make sure to pick flowers that woudl complement the dresses too.
Reply:Yes, it will look great with the black satin shoes!

Good luck! and Congrats!
Reply:I would just do a basic black shoe . The dresses sound lovely as I love fuchsia
Reply:fuchsia ugh.. that better be a really well chosen fuchsia because otherwise it will look gross, good luck and congrats
Reply:I think it would look cute, maybe you could get some black satin gloves and onyx (black gem) jewelry to match and set them off a bit more.
Reply:If it is a dark fuchsia shade, definitely; for a light shade I'd rather go for ivory or off-white unless there is some black (shrug, sash, purse etc.) in the dresses, then black is great
Reply:yes, these colors look great together for a wedding or social event. add black mini flowers to the bouquets as fill.
Reply:No, I would not do black shoes. They will be the first thing people notice about the outfit; they will draw attention to their feet.

Better to do dyed to match, clear, silver, or gold.

What colour and style of shoes would you wear with a fuchsia coloured dress?

I would say either black, silver or gold and have other matching accessories such as handbag

What colour and style of shoes would you wear with a fuchsia coloured dress?
Something black. Heels or flats or strapy heels.
Reply:you should go for a darker color shoe like black. if you are tall you should wear flats but if you are short you should go for some black pumps on sale and add some bright jewelry to make your outfit pop!
Reply:Silver is a smart option, but for a modern twist how about turquoise
Reply:Black, gold, silver, bronze, pewter, navy.
Reply:silver strappy heels or fuchsia strappy heels if they're the same colour as the dress. sounds pretty =]
Reply:Fuchsia was the theme during my brother's wedding. it looks good with silver high heels :)
Reply:i would wear black wedge heels or black peep toes
Reply:black flats x
Reply:navy / black will go with fuchsia I would wear a strappy sandal in the summer and for winter a shoe with a medium heel maybe with the heel out it would lighten the look of the shoe .
Reply:just depends on the occasion and type of dress. something basic like brown black silver or gold.
Reply:With a colour like Fuchsia I think it wuld be wise to wear the same colour shoes - pointy ones would look good.
Reply:Firsty.. because the dress is light in colour, do not go for black as it is too harsh.

Id say a silver colour, i wouldnt personally wear pumps with a dress, because I think it makes the dress look frumpy, but I love heels.

I would say, wear strappy shoes, as big block shoes would again make the shoes too harsh looking compared to the colour. Again id go for a heel which is very open like this:

I'm getting married next may...any ideas on a fuchsia and lime green wedding? My theme is daisies.?
Your color scheme, though unconventional, doesn't really seem to go with daisies. Have you thought about using the color of daisies -- yellow and white? I can't imagine how you're going to bring those colors and flowers together. Good luck.
Reply:Themes and colors are great....But dont get to wrapped up in making the perfect day that you forget to enjoy it.

Look for a unique location it is alot of fun

Ignore just about anyone who can afford to advertise in a Wedding Magizine (they tend to be over priced)

Make your own guest book (scrap book, quilt, picture Matt etc.) it is an easy personal touch and one of the few things left when it is over

Programs for the ceremony make it easier to follow ESP. if it is a religious ceremony

My centerpiece idea for you - get glass cylinder containers or even nice plastic looking ones - use fuschia and green marbles or glass stones and fill them up - then you could use daisy place card holders?

Just an idea ...
Reply:With those colors, I would go with something other than daisies. I am having daisies at my wedding, but I am going the informal, casual route. I agree with the person that said to go with a more exotic flower. Daisies are simple and informal to me. I don't know about those two colors together, though. But, it's your day and you should do what makes you happy.

Reply:i think it's great , very exotic and unusual, i don't know however how much i like the dasies, ithink if your going to go with such a exotic color theme then you should go with some equally exotic flowers maybe hawiian flowers, also those colors remind me so much of fun and relaxation that i think it would be great to have your guys and girls barefooted (with great pedicure) you know men with they're tux pants (white) rolled up a bit and girls with medium length dresses , of course this would only work with an outdoor/ non-traditional wedding site
Reply:My daughter just got married and her colors were pink and lime green. She used daisies that were a hot pink. It was gorgeous! If you'd like to see the tables, cake and some of the decorations....go to my photos and see the album titled Holly and Ben.

I would like to know about ABUTILON flowering plants and FUCHSIA plants?

Abutilons are sometimes called "flowering maples," but they're not in the maple family. They're actually in the mallow family and are relatives of the mallow (duh), hollyhock and hibiscus. If you inspect the flowers of an abutilon, you'll notice the similarities. :) Colors include red, pink, red-orange, orange, orange-yellow, yellow or white. Some abutilons are available with interestingly variegated leaves.

Abutilons are evergreen shrubs that do best with moderate to regular waterings in VERY well-draining soil. They can be grown in full sun or partial shade, and partial shade is best in hotter climates. In cold-winter climates, they should be moved indoors or at least to the protection of a terrace, lanai or veranda (close to the house).

Now about fuchsias! Between all the species, cultivars and hybrids available, you could truly pick from HUNDREDS of fuchsias, with colors in every shade of rainbow and many bi-colors and tri-colors! (I love the beauty and variety). But here is some basic info for all fuchsias....

Most fuchsias are evergreen; a few are deciduous (tho I've never seen those). All prefer regular waterings and grow best in climates with mild summers. They appreciate humidity in both the air and the soil. You can grow them in full sun or partial shade, but in hotter climates, partial shade is best. They also dislike hot winds. Fuchsias should be pruned before new spring growth begins, because the blossoms are formed on new wood.

I hope you find this helpful! :)

I would like to know about ABUTILON flowering plants and FUCHSIA plants?
Fuchsia likes shade and I don't know about the other. Check out..

http://eartheasy.com/homepage.htm
Reply:Excellent post above, but both abutilons and most fuschias require winter protection in zone 8 and colder. You can get hardy fuschias that will over-winter in zone 8 but the most commonly available ones are tender perennials.

Well, you could have posted a photo of it.

Since u haven't, It pretty difficult to suggest you something but I'll try.

The dress seems pretty colorfull, so u shouldn't use many accessories.

Try some big fuchsia earrings or the color of the shoes you'll wear %26amp; a small purse [the color of the purse MUSN'T be the same with the color of the shoes].
Reply:Try some cute fushia jewlrey. Or try white jewlrey and some white shoes.
Reply:Well you can go tradtional and wear a pearl necklace and pearl earrings, or silver, or even gold. But if you want to be modern you could wear big bulky jewlry that is in now in fuchsia. Maybe you could wear a neclace with big beads that goes from small to big to small again with a thick bangle and if your ears are pierced thick ear rings. Good Luck!
Reply:A cute purse a small one like one u would buy at a boutique and some Fuchsia heels!
Reply:with jewelry, if you have sapphire earrings or neckles that would look nice, if not use diamond.

In Pokemon leaf green (GBA), how to go to Fuchsia city??

PLS%26gt; ANSWER

In Pokemon leaf green (GBA), how to go to Fuchsia city??
You need to have the pokemon flute (from Mr. Fuji in Lavander Town after you help him and you should have the Silph Scope from the Celadon City Game Corner Team Rocket HQ to help Mr. Fuji out) and a Bike (get the bike voucher and exchange it in Cerulean City) then go to Celadon City. Go to the left most of Celadon City and you should see a Snorlax sleeping. Wake it up with the flute and take care of it (you may catch it if you want). Then head towards the path that was blocked by Snorlax. Exit to the other side and you should see the bike road (the bike will be automatically equipped). Head left and then all the way down and lastly all the way to the right. On the other side of the passage is Fuschia City. That is about the common way to get to Fuschia City.

Looking for the care & maintance of flowers named COLUMBINE & FUCHSIA?

Sorry, I can't help with fuchsia... but I do have a columbine. I don't do much to it, really. I'll give it Miracle Grow every other week and I'll deadhead the flowers as they fade. Other than that, I let it do pretty much whatever it wants. They are a rather short-lived perennial though. If you like it and want more, then just let it go to seed. It will self-sow and you'll get more plants next year.

Looking for the care %26amp; maintance of flowers named COLUMBINE %26amp; FUCHSIA?
whatz up
Reply:good answer smooches! :p
Reply:Columbine will do well in part sun to shade. It is a hardy perennial that will die back to the ground each winter and return in the spring. Here in western Washington, they don't seem to require much special care, other than about a medium amount of water in addition to the rain we get.

Two kinds of fuchsias. The most common are the ones that are sold every spring in hanging baskets. These do best in full shade or only morning sun. Afternoon sun will wilt them no matter how much water you give them. To keep the blooms coming, you must water consistently and feed regularly. I use a diluted (like maybe half strength) liquid every other week or so. In order to keep these fuchsias over the winter, you must store them in a cool place where the temperature does not drop below freezing. Cut them back almost to the soil surface and water them occasionally.

Hardy fuchsias can be planted in the ground here in Washington, but I am not sure about other zones. These are a lot less fussy than the other kind and can take more sun and need less water and fertilizer.

I think I am suffering from "Heel Spur" (planter fuchsia) Please Help.?

I feel severe heel pain in the mornings and while getting up after sitting for a while. I do not want an operation, if avoidable that is. Kindly suggest alternative remedy.

I think I am suffering from "Heel Spur" (planter fuchsia) Please Help.?
Lots of things you can do. Do not go barefoot at all, but wear good supportive shoes. You can buy stretchy ankle braces at Walmart that help some. A big MUST is to stretch your ankles by flexing your foot several times a day. Make those ankle muscles stretch a bit at a time. Most foot doctors will give you an injection of cortisone at the trigger point. These shots last me, for instance, about three months.
Reply:Perform towel curls. Towel curls make the muscles in the arch of the foot stronger. Keep a small towel on the floor and pull it near you only with the help of your toes, rest of the foot should be stationary. Do 20 repetitions thrice a day.

Go for orthotic inserts. It has helped many, who found that using shoe inserts cures their heel spur. Heel cups can lower strain on the plantar fascia, and arch supports can avoid overpronation. Ensure you use the orthotic in all your shoes, not just one. There are many types of over-the-counter orthotics, and you should experiment a little to get the one that is effective for you. Your doctor can give you customized orthotics.

Reply:Hi, I work in a podiatry office and hope I can help. With heel pain there can be many things going on, such as....Heel spur syndrome, tarsal tunnel syndrome, even gout.

I know a great web site that can help. There is also a discussion forum where you can chat with others that have the same problem.
Reply:There are these cool little donut shaped pads you can put in your shoe. or go see a foot specialist for custom made inserts.

So, Brass/copper accessories, bag & belt.. And a fuchsia top.. do they go together?

If not, what do brassey %26amp; coppery accessories go with? (other than black, white, brown %26amp; mocha) ?

thanks!

So, Brass/copper accessories, bag %26amp; belt.. And a fuchsia top.. do they go together?
mmmm not too sure about the fuchsia see where your going with the whole contrast but fuchsia is the wrong colour, something like a aqua/bright kinda blue, a yellow if your looking to contrast and like you said mocha, creams black would go but not well enough not the best match but wouldn't look totally dreadful just not a first choice, and white obviously is ok, erm but colour wise I'd say blue, yellow, and a burnt orange would look nice in fact too

hope i helped
Reply:I think the fushia top would look better with black accessories.
Reply:Maybe...depends on the outfit. I can see them going with a copper or orange color, so why rule out fuchsia? It's up to you and your personal style, but I say go for it. You do have a mirror, right? Look in it. If you like what you see, walk out the door with your head held high..work it out!

Can a guy wear a bright hot pink (fuchsia) polo shirt, or does it look too 'gay'?

I saw this Lacoste polo shirt for men on the lacoste store; It was this bright hot pink (not the average pastel pink color, but a brighter one). I liked it, but was unsure of buying it for the following reasons:

1.- My skintone is this light brown-olive color. My hair is dark brown, and my eyes are dark brown also. Does a hot pink shirt looks good with my skintone/hair color?

2.- Does it look too 'gay' to wear a bright hot pink shirt, instead of the classic pastle pink color?

So, should I or should I not buy it?

Can a guy wear a bright hot pink (fuchsia) polo shirt, or does it look too 'gay'?
About 20 years ago (and still to kids) a pink shirt on a guy was gay. It said "I'm gay and I fight for the pink team, look at me, is anyone else gay like me cuz I'm looking, this is my big gay flag."

Today, a guy in a pink shirt actually says the opposite. It means I'm brave. It says "I'm so secure %26amp; confident in my heterosexuality, that it would take a lot more than this color to make somebody doubt my manliness, and I'm man enough to wear it, eventhough I know insecure men are afraid to because people might question them, but there's no way anyone could think I'm gay."

Now, once you start wearing women's underwear, that might raise some eyebrows.

;)
Reply:Hot pink = Gay on a guy in my opinion, but I am not you or your friends...

But if you like it you could always say Who cares what other people think, if you like it buy it.
Reply:My man wears pink and personally I love the way he looks in it, as long as you are confident wearing who cares what other people think as long as you look good in it :)
Reply:Real men wear pink
Reply:hi!well definitely 102percent it will look gay!
Reply:Pink looks good on guys, whether they are gay or not.
Reply:If your going to wear a shirt that color, do it with confidence.
Reply:i think you should buy it, just don't act like gay it'll be ok, and i think it goes well with your skin color.
Reply:well it is quite a fashion and you have to be brave to wear it but when other ppl see this they will feel like they need to wear it and they feel more courageous so if i were u i would and it doesnt look gay at all it looks cool so go ahead
Reply:Of course you can but make sure when and where you wear it is a proper occassion. Things like a brunch with your girl, a late dinner or drinks with friends in the city are cool. I don't think wearing it to the local pool hall or a sporting event is appropriate for something like this where the amount of testosterone will be at an all time high.

I included a picture. Kanye West isn't gay and I think he wears things like this very well. Good Luck!

Reply:Well, personally, I think it may look "too gay." But, as long as its not too tight, and you like it, I say, why not?! Make a statement!

I know I'm being quite contradictory, but who was it, indeed, that assigned certain colors to being for a girl or a boy?
Reply:You seem to have the skin tone to pull it off so I would say yes. Pair it with some jeans and you will look fine.
Reply:Definitely GAY!
Reply:if ur confident enough with ur masculenity is alright. guys like that are not gay and can pull it off.

go for it
Reply:It would look just groovie.
Reply:Yes, You can wear a hot pink shirt and not look gay as look as you walk like a man and not a woman. If you don't wiggle like a woman and use the hands the way the gay men us theirs. A man can look great any any color as look as he is sure of him self. Besides who said hot pink is for women and gays. If you like it buy it.
Reply:It looks to gay. Take notce that everything in life that is pink is made for girls. Dont try to change this. We all watched the Power Rangers when we were little. The pink ranger was a girl for a reason.
Reply:You know you are wrong for that!
Reply:it looks too 'gay'.
Reply:pink on a guy is gay
Reply:Pink looks good on men...especially brand name, unless the man is extremely inconfident in their appearance.

I think pink matches well with your skintone and hair/eye color, go for it if you think it looks good ! :)
Reply:That's pretty gay.
Reply:hell yeah, wear the pink!!! i luv 2 see pink on a guy, it`s sexy!!! a man can wear any color he chooses, not just the stereotypically "masculine" colors!!! pink is not a gay color %26amp; people who think pink is a gay color for a man probably have issues with their own sexuality %26amp; that`s their problem, not yours!!!

Does anyone know howto make the colour fuchsia (bright pink) using primary colours?

I am trying to make it using acrylic paints

Does anyone know howto make the colour fuchsia (bright pink) using primary colours?
Fuchsia, also known as magenta, is a true primary colour when you're mixing pigments. You can't mix it from anything else. You can actually get red from mixing magenta and yellow. Magenta is an expensive pigment and it wasn't used in traditional palettes, but it is now available in most brands of quality artist's paints.

The confusion about red being a primary colour comes from the fact that in light theory, such as pixels of light on your computer screen, the primaries are red, blue violet and green. You can get yellow by mixing red and green light. In pigments such as paint, the true primaries are magenta, cyan (sky blue) and yellow. Red and magenta are neighbours on the colour wheel.
Reply:red, white and lacquer
Reply:Fuchsia is red/violet.

Mix 3 parts red to 1 part blue and you should end up with something approximating to the colour you want.

Mix in more red or more blue until it is exactly what you want.

The human eye can detect over a million different shades of colour, so experiment until you get it exact.

Don't add any white or black as it will just "muddy" your hue.
Reply:With red blue and yellow thats not possible...you can try adding white to the red if you have white...if not just add some watter to the red...thats the best way
Reply:The primary colors in painting are magenta, cyan, yellow and black. Get a tube of magenta and you will see how amazingly similar it is to fuchsia... may be adding just a bit of blue and a tiny bit of yellow to desaturate.
Reply:Start with a lot of white and add a little red to it. Keep adding a little red until you get the shade you want.
Reply:To get the color bright pink the only two colors needed are red and white, the brighter you want the less red you need.
Reply:I'm not sure exactly, but to find out go into your Paint program and then create a new color. Once you get to the color you want, you should get a pretty good idea of what colors you need to make this color.
Reply:Do you mean primary for colours as in paint or for colours as in light?
Reply:Red with a little white.
Reply:A lot of red, a little white, and maybe a teeny bit of light blue to give it a purplish cast
Reply:white, yellow, and red

The more white and yellow used the brighter the color. White helps to make it lighter, while yellow helps to brighten it and bring the colors out.

If you want to make it a bit darker add some blue or black.
Reply:try making the color on a computerized art program.
Reply:a lot of red and a little yellow or white?
Reply:I think blue and red and white.

I am a fanatic lover of fuchsia plant,by this month what'd be done to have a beautiful flowers in this year
When the weather warms up watch your nursery for small starts that you can plant several together in a larger container, or wait until they get their hanging baskets. Hang one in a cool spot. Or put it on a pedestal. Get a fertilizer that is a blossom booster, keep it well water and out of the hottest sun, more shade than sun is best. Pick off the blossoms as soon as they start to go and you will produce more flowers. You can protect them in the winter in a cool place. Cut them back to about six inches for managability. If you have a place to let it leaf out in spring that is somewhat protected from the frosts and give it a touch of water a few times.Next year you might just have your own prestarted fuchsia!

There are also the hardy ones that are bushes and are tough and quite beautiful at the same time and come in many colors.

What kind of bush has bright fuchsia colored clusters of berries up and down the stem between the leaves?

It is a beautiful bush, about eight - ten feet tall and it looks like there is a new baby bush about ten feet from it. I just moved here and found it out along the edge of the woods.

What is the difference between "fuchsia" and "fuschia"?

Just an acceptable spelling shift, like grey and gray

What is the difference between "fuchsia" and "fuschia"?
They are the same thing, a color of pinkey purple, but there are different ways to spell it. It's like theater and theatre and color and colour.

(Personally, I spell the word the first way, fuchsia.)

Hope this helped!!
Reply:Fuschia is just a misspelling. The proper spelling is "fuchsia", as the color derives from the color of a particular species of flowering shrub (also called the fuchsia), which was named for the German botanist (Fuchs) who first produced it.

How do you strike a fuchsia ?

all you have to do is place the cutting directly in water with a little b-1. its best to use the final 4" or so leaving only the end 4-8 leaves removing the rest. to further guarantee success, a rooting hormone should be used as a dip prior to placing in water. Light should be indirect or best on the north side of your house. when the roots have developed to 1-2" transplant VERY CAREFULLY as not to damage the growth of the roots into all purpose potting mix adding sand as a 50-50 mixture. Pinch back any growth that goes beyond 6" for a more full mature plant. Good luck!

I'm having troble rooting fuchsia cuttings am using heat 75 degreesand rooting compound what am I doing wrong

Putting them in water is the easiest and most successful way, peat moss would be second best. Make sure they've got at least two full sets of leaves, but not more than three, no flowers or buds--might already know this

They should be placed in an area that is not too bright or warm (that may be what you're problem is). I put mine in a bay window in my kitchen, or on the kitchen counter. Good air circulation is a must.

I've never had any luck with rooting compounds, fuchsias seem to prefer not a lot of fuss until after they've rooted. Simply sticking a piece in a cup of water and ignoring it for a good 6-8 weeks has produced the best roots in my experience.

Once you've got a good amount of roots (if using water), you'll want to CAREFULLY pot them. A 4" plastic nursery container works well. Peat moss is best for the first potting--as long as you make sure it is kept consistenltly moist and never dries out. I wouldn't put fetilizer in the whatever mix you choose to use, to keep encouraging strong root growth.

Don't put them outside until after the 2nd potting, doing so gradually, a few hours each day until they're used to the change. Now's the time to start feeding them.

Good Luck!

If you think it has been long enough for something to have happend, try rooting them in water.

How do i get to Fuchsia City in pokemon leafgreen?

After you beat the celadon gym and defeat giovanni in the rocket's base at the game corner(which will earn you the silph scope) you must go to Lavender town and go up the pokemon tower, you will fight the ghost of a Marowak which is why you need the silph scope. Keep going and you will save a man named mr. fuji. Go to his house afterwards(which is in Lavender town) and you will get the poke flute which will allow you to wake up the snorlax south of lavender and west of celadon.

Before going south head to the west and make sure you get the hm fly from the girl in the house to the right after you cut the bush before where the snorlax is. You can actually take either path past the 2 snorlax and they will both lead you to fuscia. Also remember to catch one as there are only 2 in the game

Soo who has used fuchsia flash color fiend dye from hot topic ??

does it work on semi dark brown hair???

Soo who has used fuchsia flash color fiend dye from hot topic ??
i have used fushia flash color fiend from hot topic. it should work on your hair. i have dyed black hair and it works over that. i suggest getting a bleaching kit and bleaching the sections which you are coloring first since the color will be more noticable and stand out more, also it will last longer and come out more on your hair. if you know where an essential store is i would recommend going in there and getting their manic panic dye and a bleaching kit or ordering it from a website.
Reply:I never used that particular one, but from personal experience, unnatural colors always show up better if you bleach your hair first. Of course this isn't great for your hair, but the colors are a lot harder to see and are not as vibrant on darker hair.
Reply:for any kind of dark hair, you might actually have to bleach your hair first. (mine is currently bleached, and im waiting a week so that i can dye my hair and not be afraid of it falling out.lol) to get that badass fuschia color it must be blondish.

Hi. I have a fuchsia coloured dress and I need help picking out the right colour for accessories.?

Just in case you're wondering, I'm looking for a kind of bright look. I was going to go with yellow but I wasn't too sure that would work without clashing. Even if you can't think of a 'bright look', I am up for suggestions. Thanks.

Hi. I have a fuchsia coloured dress and I need help picking out the right colour for accessories.?
I think silver would look best :)

I had a fuchsia colored dress for my prom last year and I would silver jewelry with diamonds and a silver bag %26amp;%26amp; it looked great !!

Good luck sweetie.. I'm sure you'll look great with any color :)
Reply:yellow would be great. or white either one fuchsia is a great color
Reply:Turquoise looks awsome!!!just ask rachel zoe
Reply:I think yellow would be awesome. I also agree with the girls that said turquoise. That would be really pretty together. Have you ever thought about black and white? Like a swirly black and white necklace with earrings or a big bracelet? If you think the yellow would clash (which I don't think so), try taking a yellow strand necklace and twisting it with a fuschia necklace or some other combination. I'm not sure what kind of dress this is but I think the most important this is that YOU think it looks great and YOU feel comfortable in it. Believe me, I've worn some crazy looking stuff but it was totally me. Make your own style and wear what YOU like. I'm sure it'll look great! Good luck....
Reply:Hey! Check out the latest look on both SJP and Cameron Diaz at a fashion show a few weeks ago. They both wore a fushia dress with Turquoise (blue-ish green) accessories! It looked FANTASTIC!!!!!!
Reply:yellow would look good, but very retro, not good for a classy or formal affair. black would go best, just make sure you don't get big or chunky jewelry, it'll be too much with the color of the dress.
Reply:neon yellow will be fine. it depends on what sort of accessory, no? i used to have a fuschia coloured dress and i'd run around wearing a neon yellow hat with tassels and declare myself an eye-sore but everyone thought they went together.
Reply:Bright orange! Or, silver, white or black

What care does my fuchsia plant need?

Fuchsias are surprisingly easy to keep in the flower beds, and in many soils will produce a good display of flowers if simply kept weed free and watered in dry weather.

However, the best fuchsias are ones which are regularly watered and fed weekly with general purpose fertiliser - ones high in potassium are believed to produce superior flowers, but a general purpose fertiliser appears to do the job just as well. A mulch of well rotted-compost around the plant will go a long way to preserve moisture and provide nutrients.

In common with many flowering plants, fuchsias produce better and more flowers if they are regularly dead-headed.

When the flowers begin to shrivel, they will drop off by themselves, but leave a seed pod which will take energy from the plant. The seed pod is shown by the arrow in the picture on the left. This should be removed (pinching off with your fingers), as soon as the flower fades or falls off.

Pinching Out Fuchsias

Fuchsias flower on young wood, so the more young branches there are, the more flowers you will get. To encourage a fuchsia to produce young branches, pinch out the growing points where they have more than two sets of leaves. Remember though, that fuchsias reach their flowering peak, around 12 weeks after you last pinched out the shoots. With this in mind, stop pinching out the growing shoots around mid-April time at the latest.

Fuchsias in a Container

For a good hanging basket display, plant four or five trailing fuchsias around the edge and fill around them with compost. It's best to choose plants of the same variety, because that way they will grow evenly and provide more impact. Lobelia or trailing geraniums can be planted with them. The type of hanging basket used will affect how often you have to water them - solid plastic baskets with a reservoir for water at the bottom are best - the fuchsias will grow and cover the basket in six weeks or so.

Caring for all container grown fuchsias is simple but can be time-consuming. they require a weekly liquid feed and daily watering - watch them carefully in dry weather to ensure the basket does not dry out.

Growing in tubs is relatively simple, with one trick - fuchsias put on a lot of top growth in a season and are very prone to tipping over in relatively moderate wind. So ensure that reasonably large tubs are used, nothing less than 30cm (12in), bigger if possible. Place lots of gravel and/or crocks at the bottom of the tub to weigh it down and keep it stable in the wind. A mixture of peat and John Innes compost (heavier) will also give the tub a useful amount of weight.

What care does my fuchsia plant need?
http://www.heyne.com.au/gardencentre/fac...
Reply:Depends on where you live, and what kind they are.

If you live somewhere dry, you may need to spray them with Cloud Cover. They need to be kept in the shade, but how much also depends on where you are. If you have them in sandy soil, which is what they love, it's almost impossible to overwater them. If you live in California, you needn't worry about winter unless you are in the Sierras. If you live elsewhere there are some varieties of fuchsias can overwinter outside. Others you will need to mulch or bring in.

My friend bought 2 fuchsia plants from a garden centre she planted them straight away but they have wilted?

They have the appearance of being thirsty, with leaves hanging lifelessly but the soil is moist, although not wet. I am quite an experienced fuschia enthusiast myself but cant work out what is wrong can anyone make any suggestions for a reason and or remedy please

My friend bought 2 fuchsia plants from a garden centre she planted them straight away but they have wilted?
They may be suffering shock after being moved too quickly from greenhouse conditions to outdoors, without being 'hardened off', where they are acclimatised slowly.

The other thing that springs to mind are vine weevils, which could have been in the pots, when she purchased them, especially if nothing nearby is haing similar problems. Vine weevil bugs eat the roots of plants, and typically cause a wilting effect. They're short fat legless grubs, about 1/2inch long.

There's some info about them here:

http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profiles060...

I'd probably dig 1 of them up, and look for signs of root destruction and/or the grubs. You can buy a vine weevil killer, I use 1 made by Pravado, though it may be too late to save her 2 plants, if they're overtaken and nearly at the point of death.

In any event, I'd return them to the centre, and expect an exchange and/or refund, if it's very soon after purchase. Some nurseries provide guarantees of several months, but this often excludes plants that could be categorised as summer bedding plants.

Otherwise, she could enclose them in some polythene of some sort, to reduce transpiration losses via their leaves:this may allow them to pick-up.

Good luck! Rob
Reply:They do much better in a hanging basket than in the ground.
Reply:I'm not a fuchsia expert but what I can offer is this:

Fuchsia's are a thirsty plant. They like a lot of water and if they were allowed to dry out it might take some time for recovery (if they recover at all). Some plants simply cannot tolerate dehydration and are difficult to impossible to get back once they have started wilting.

If the plant is heavily laden with flowers it might need food, too. I was told that a fuchsia in bloom needs a fertilizer, but I can't remember exactly how much and what kind they told me. That's a good question for someone knowledgeable at a nursery. That doesn't sound like a lack of food, though. That usually appears differently (discoloration or spots on the leaves, etc).

Is the plant getting too much sun? Fuchsia's like like but not a lot of heat, or direct sunlight.

Can you rule out disease?

I have included a link to some basics on fuchsia care that I hope is helpful. Many garden places have a guarantee on their plants and if nothing else your friend might be wise to look into that. The hardware stores, for example, offer 1 year.

Best of luck!
Reply:take them back then
Reply:not to much water , the roots need to find a bit of moisture not to much.

you moved them ok . if you moved them from pot to another pot then give them chance to survive ,

Be patient they wilting cause of the move warm place , shelter . till they recover.
Reply:It may be that they are not getting enough drainage, I have over 250 fuchsias and find the better the drainage the better they flourish. Also mist the leaves they love it for humidity. You may just not be watering/feeding them enough. At this time of year water once a day and feed with a good quality feed one a week.
Reply:wrong soil to fix bed of manure and the right soil type for the plant you are planting i am not a fuchsia person however the symptoms are classic with either wrong soil or light conditions. if the plant is from a shop then it will need time to acclimatise to the new area you are putting it pull it out of the garden back in its pot and slowly introduce it to it's new home. it could be it has been in shade for a long time and you have put it in direct sunlight its leaves will be to dark to handle the amount of sun light it now gets.
