I've just bought 4 fuchsia plants and would like to know if they are 'hardy' varieties or not thank you!!!

they are

swing-time

dark eyes

winston churchill

love's reward

I've literally just dug out what will be a flowerbed out of my newly cut down jungle!!! So I'd like plants that i can just plonk in and not worry about digging them up again over winter etc! Any other good plant suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you x

Swing time is a tralor, dark eyes not knowen to me, winston churchill can be left out all year round if it is protected, lover's reward is another not knowen to me.
Reply:there are literally thousand upon thousands of named fuchsia plants, there is about a 50-50 split in hardy/tender types, I've yet to meet anyone who knows them all. Check on labels it always informs you if they are hardy or not, you must have them as you have spelt fuchsia correctly. If you dont have them check with the seller they should know their wares

Reply:Fuchsia[ladies eardrops] I have got some in my garden border and they are called Winston Churchill. I bought them from our garden centre and on the card it said'These type are hardy'. They are doing fine. The other variety may not be so hardy.
Reply:i also have the first three on your list not heard of the last one but be careful about moving them the smaller they are the more success you will have plonk them in and feed well after a month in new position good luck !!!
