Why not a cream color to offset the brightness of your main color choice. White, cream, and pink would be lovely. Not sure about the flowers.

I would try both to be sure. But black is basic and will go with everything and will be able to be used by your bridesmaids again and again at other events.

Your color scheme, though unconventional, doesn't really seem to go with daisies. Have you thought about using the color of daisies -- yellow and white? I can't imagine how you're going to bring those colors and flowers together. Good luck.

Eat Breakfast it may be the only meal you get all day (it is a busy day and skipping it may cause dizzyness by a 4pm ceremony

Delegate ahead of time for the day of including a designated control freak (this can be a professional if you can afford it if not pick you most stubborn friend or family member not in the wedding party and tell them everything)

Abutilons are sometimes called "flowering maples," but they're not in the maple family. They're actually in the mallow family and are relatives of the mallow (duh), hollyhock and hibiscus. If you inspect the flowers of an abutilon, you'll notice the similarities. :) Colors include red, pink, red-orange, orange, orange-yellow, yellow or white. Some abutilons are available with interestingly variegated leaves.

Abutilons are evergreen shrubs that do best with moderate to regular waterings in VERY well-draining soil. They can be grown in full sun or partial shade, and partial shade is best in hotter climates. They appreciate humidity in both the air and the soil. You can grow them in full sun or partial shade, but in hotter climates, partial shade is best. They also dislike hot winds. Fuchsias should be pruned before new spring growth begins, because the blossoms are formed on new wood.

Reply:Excellent post above, but both abutilons and most fuschias require winter protection in zone 8 and colder. You can get hardy fuschias that will over-winter in zone 8 but the most commonly available ones are tender perennials.

Go to the left most of Celadon City and you should see a Snorlax sleeping. Wake it up with the flute and take care of it (you may catch it if you want). Then head towards the path that was blocked by Snorlax. Exit to the other side and you should see the bike road (the bike will be automatically equipped). Head left and then all the way down and lastly all the way to the right. On the other side of the passage is Fuschia City. That is about the common way to get to Fuschia City.

Sorry, I can't help with fuchsia... but I do have a columbine. I don't do much to it, really. I'll give it Miracle Grow every other week and I'll deadhead the flowers as they fade. Other than that, I let it do pretty much whatever it wants. They are a rather short-lived perennial though. If you like it and want more, then just let it go to seed. It will self-sow and you'll get more plants next year.

Reply:Columbine will do well in part sun to shade. It is a hardy perennial that will die back to the ground each winter and return in the spring. Here in western Washington, they don't seem to require much special care, other than about a medium amount of water in addition to the rain we get.

Two kinds of fuchsias. The most common are the ones that are sold every spring in hanging baskets. These do best in full shade or only morning sun. Afternoon sun will wilt them no matter how much water you give them. To keep the blooms coming, you must water consistently and feed regularly. I use a diluted (like maybe half strength) liquid every other week or so. In order to keep these fuchsias over the winter, you must store them in a cool place where the temperature does not drop below freezing. Cut them back almost to the soil surface and water them occasionally.

Hardy fuchsias can be planted in the ground here in Washington, but I am not sure about other zones. These are a lot less fussy than the other kind and can take more sun and need less water and fertilizer.

mmmm not too sure about the fuchsia see where your going with the whole contrast but fuchsia is the wrong colour, something like a aqua/bright kinda blue, a yellow if your looking to contrast and like you said mocha, creams black would go but not well enough not the best match but wouldn't look totally dreadful just not a first choice, and white obviously is ok, erm but colour wise I'd say blue, yellow, and a burnt orange would look nice in fact too

I saw this Lacoste polo shirt for men on the lacoste store; It was this bright hot pink (not the average pastel pink color, but a brighter one). I liked it, but was unsure of buying it for the following reasons:

1.- My skintone is this light brown-olive color. My hair is dark brown, and my eyes are dark brown also. Does a hot pink shirt looks good with my skintone/hair color?

2.- Does it look too 'gay' to wear a bright hot pink shirt, instead of the classic pastle pink color?

About 20 years ago (and still to kids) a pink shirt on a guy was gay. It said "I'm gay and I fight for the pink team, look at me, is anyone else gay like me cuz I'm looking, this is my big gay flag."

Today, a guy in a pink shirt actually says the opposite. It means I'm brave. It says "I'm so secure %26amp; confident in my heterosexuality, that it would take a lot more than this color to make somebody doubt my manliness, and I'm man enough to wear it, eventhough I know insecure men are afraid to because people might question them, but there's no way anyone could think I'm gay."

Now, once you start wearing women's underwear, that might raise some eyebrows.

I don't think wearing it to the local pool hall or a sporting event is appropriate for something like this where the amount of testosterone will be at an all time high.

Fuchsia, also known as magenta, is a true primary colour when you're mixing pigments. You can't mix it from anything else. You can actually get red from mixing magenta and yellow. Magenta is an expensive pigment and it wasn't used in traditional palettes, but it is now available in most brands of quality artist's paints.

The confusion about red being a primary colour comes from the fact that in light theory, such as pixels of light on your computer screen, the primaries are red, blue violet and green. You can get yellow by mixing red and green light. In pigments such as paint, the true primaries are magenta, cyan (sky blue) and yellow. Red and magenta are neighbours on the colour wheel.

When the weather warms up watch your nursery for small starts that you can plant several together in a larger container, or wait until they get their hanging baskets. Hang one in a cool spot. Or put it on a pedestal. Get a fertilizer that is a blossom booster, keep it well water and out of the hottest sun, more shade than sun is best. Pick off the blossoms as soon as they start to go and you will produce more flowers. You can protect them in the winter in a cool place. Cut them back to about six inches for managability. If you have a place to let it leaf out in spring that is somewhat protected from the frosts and give it a touch of water a few times.Next year you might just have your own prestarted fuchsia!

There are also the hardy ones that are bushes and are tough and quite beautiful at the same time and come in many colors.

all you have to do is place the cutting directly in water with a little b-1. its best to use the final 4" or so leaving only the end 4-8 leaves removing the rest. to further guarantee success, a rooting hormone should be used as a dip prior to placing in water. Light should be indirect or best on the north side of your house. when the roots have developed to 1-2" transplant VERY CAREFULLY as not to damage the growth of the roots into all purpose potting mix adding sand as a 50-50 mixture. Pinch back any growth that goes beyond 6" for a more full mature plant. Good luck!

Putting them in water is the easiest and most successful way, peat moss would be second best. Make sure they've got at least two full sets of leaves, but not more than three, no flowers or buds--might already know this

They should be placed in an area that is not too bright or warm (that may be what you're problem is). I put mine in a bay window in my kitchen, or on the kitchen counter. Good air circulation is a must.

I've never had any luck with rooting compounds, fuchsias seem to prefer not a lot of fuss until after they've rooted. Simply sticking a piece in a cup of water and ignoring it for a good 6-8 weeks has produced the best roots in my experience.

Once you've got a good amount of roots (if using water), you'll want to CAREFULLY pot them. A 4" plastic nursery container works well. Peat moss is best for the first potting--as long as you make sure it is kept consistenltly moist and never dries out. I wouldn't put fetilizer in the whatever mix you choose to use, to keep encouraging strong root growth.

Don't put them outside until after the 2nd potting, doing so gradually, a few hours each day until they're used to the change. Now's the time to start feeding them.

After you beat the celadon gym and defeat giovanni in the rocket's base at the game corner(which will earn you the silph scope) you must go to Lavender town and go up the pokemon tower, you will fight the ghost of a Marowak which is why you need the silph scope. Keep going and you will save a man named mr. fuji. Go to his house afterwards(which is in Lavender town) and you will get the poke flute which will allow you to wake up the snorlax south of lavender and west of celadon.

Before going south head to the west and make sure you get the hm fly from the girl in the house to the right after you cut the bush before where the snorlax is. You can actually take either path past the 2 snorlax and they will both lead you to fuscia. Also remember to catch one as there are only 2 in the game

Reply:there are literally thousand upon thousands of named fuchsia plants, there is about a 50-50 split in hardy/tender types, I've yet to meet anyone who knows them all. Check on labels it always informs you if they are hardy or not, you must have them as you have spelt fuchsia correctly. If you dont have them check with the seller they should know their wares

i have used fushia flash color fiend from hot topic. it should work on your hair. i have dyed black hair and it works over that. i suggest getting a bleaching kit and bleaching the sections which you are coloring first since the color will be more noticable and stand out more, also it will last longer and come out more on your hair. if you know where an essential store is i would recommend going in there and getting their manic panic dye and a bleaching kit or ordering it from a website.
Reply:I never used that particular one, but from personal experience, unnatural colors always show up better if you bleach your hair first. Of course this isn't great for your hair, but the colors are a lot harder to see and are not as vibrant on darker hair.

Like a swirly black and white necklace with earrings or a big bracelet? If you think the yellow would clash (which I don't think so), try taking a yellow strand necklace and twisting it with a fuschia necklace or some other combination. I'm not sure what kind of dress this is but I think the most important this is that YOU think it looks great and YOU feel comfortable in it. Believe me, I've worn some crazy looking stuff but it was totally me. Make your own style and wear what YOU like. I'm sure it'll look great! Good luck....

What care does my fuchsia plant need?

Fuchsias are surprisingly easy to keep in the flower beds, and in many soils will produce a good display of flowers if simply kept weed free and watered in dry weather.

However, the best fuchsias are ones which are regularly watered and fed weekly with general purpose fertiliser - ones high in potassium are believed to produce superior flowers, but a general purpose fertiliser appears to do the job just as well. A mulch of well rotted-compost around the plant will go a long way to preserve moisture and provide nutrients.

In common with many flowering plants, fuchsias produce better and more flowers if they are regularly dead-headed.

When the flowers begin to shrivel, they will drop off by themselves, but leave a seed pod which will take energy from the plant. The seed pod is shown by the arrow in the picture on the left. This should be removed (pinching off with your fingers), as soon as the flower fades or falls off.

Pinching Out Fuchsias

Fuchsias flower on young wood, so the more young branches there are, the more flowers you will get. To encourage a fuchsia to produce young branches, pinch out the growing points where they have more than two sets of leaves. Remember though, that fuchsias reach their flowering peak, around 12 weeks after you last pinched out the shoots. With this in mind, stop pinching out the growing shoots around mid-April time at the latest.

Fuchsias in a Container

For a good hanging basket display, plant four or five trailing fuchsias around the edge and fill around them with compost. It's best to choose plants of the same variety, because that way they will grow evenly and provide more impact. Lobelia or trailing geraniums can be planted with them. The type of hanging basket used will affect how often you have to water them - solid plastic baskets with a reservoir for water at the bottom are best - the fuchsias will grow and cover the basket in six weeks or so.

Caring for all container grown fuchsias is simple but can be time-consuming. they require a weekly liquid feed and daily watering - watch them carefully in dry weather to ensure the basket does not dry out.

Growing in tubs is relatively simple, with one trick - fuchsias put on a lot of top growth in a season and are very prone to tipping over in relatively moderate wind. So ensure that reasonably large tubs are used, nothing less than 30cm (12in), bigger if possible. Place lots of gravel and/or crocks at the bottom of the tub to weigh it down and keep it stable in the wind. A mixture of peat and John Innes compost (heavier) will also give the tub a useful amount of weight.

Reply:Depends on where you live, and what kind they are.

If you live somewhere dry, you may need to spray them with Cloud Cover. They need to be kept in the shade, but how much also depends on where you are. If you have them in sandy soil, which is what they love, it's almost impossible to overwater them. If you live in California, you needn't worry about winter unless you are in the Sierras. If you live elsewhere there are some varieties of fuchsias can overwinter outside. Others you will need to mulch or bring in.

They have the appearance of being thirsty, with leaves hanging lifelessly but the soil is moist, although not wet. I am quite an experienced fuschia enthusiast myself but cant work out what is wrong can anyone make any suggestions for a reason and or remedy please

My friend bought 2 fuchsia plants from a garden centre she planted them straight away but they have wilted?
They may be suffering shock after being moved too quickly from greenhouse conditions to outdoors, without being 'hardened off', where they are acclimatised slowly.

The other thing that springs to mind are vine weevils, which could have been in the pots, when she purchased them, especially if nothing nearby is haing similar problems. Vine weevil bugs eat the roots of plants, and typically cause a wilting effect. They're short fat legless grubs, about 1/2inch long.

I'd probably dig 1 of them up, and look for signs of root destruction and/or the grubs. You can buy a vine weevil killer, I use 1 made by Pravado, though it may be too late to save her 2 plants, if they're overtaken and nearly at the point of death.

In any event, I'd return them to the centre, and expect an exchange and/or refund, if it's very soon after purchase. Some nurseries provide guarantees of several months, but this often excludes plants that could be categorised as summer bedding plants.

Otherwise, she could enclose them in some polythene of some sort, to reduce transpiration losses via their leaves:this may allow them to pick-up.

Reply:I'm not a fuchsia expert but what I can offer is this:

Fuchsia's are a thirsty plant. They like a lot of water and if they were allowed to dry out it might take some time for recovery (if they recover at all). Some plants simply cannot tolerate dehydration and are difficult to impossible to get back once they have started wilting.

If the plant is heavily laden with flowers it might need food, too. I was told that a fuchsia in bloom needs a fertilizer, but I can't remember exactly how much and what kind they told me. That's a good question for someone knowledgeable at a nursery. That doesn't sound like a lack of food, though. That usually appears differently (discoloration or spots on the leaves, etc).

Is the plant getting too much sun? Fuchsia's like like but not a lot of heat, or direct sunlight.

Can you rule out disease?

I have included a link to some basics on fuchsia care that I hope is helpful. Many garden places have a guarantee on their plants and if nothing else your friend might be wise to look into that. The hardware stores, for example, offer 1 year.

Reply:It may be that they are not getting enough drainage, I have over 250 fuchsias and find the better the drainage the better they flourish. Also mist the leaves they love it for humidity. You may just not be watering/feeding them enough. At this time of year water once a day and feed with a good quality feed one a week.
Reply:wrong soil to fix bed of manure and the right soil type for the plant you are planting i am not a fuchsia person however the symptoms are classic with either wrong soil or light conditions. if the plant is from a shop then it will need time to acclimatise to the new area you are putting it pull it out of the garden back in its pot and slowly introduce it to it's new home. it could be it has been in shade for a long time and you have put it in direct sunlight its leaves will be to dark to handle the amount of sun light it now gets.

I recently purchased Fuchsias and they came with uninvited pests who are multiplying and now invading their neighbor's beautiful leaves.

What can i do to get rid of them without bringing harm to my plants? I would like to use a natural product if possible versus a chemical treatment.

You can use the yellow sticky traps if you can find them. There might by ways on how to make one by smear Vaselines or engine grease on a piece of yellow paper. The bugs are attracted to yellow coloring, so they'll fly towards the trap and get stuck. good luck!

I have a small front and back porch-- back is shade(north) and front partly sun(south.) I live in Seattle and have horrible aphid problems. The only things that I have luck with are geraniums (front porch), which I like. On the back porch, impatiens and fuchsias have all gotten chewed to bits by aphids (I work a lot and need low maintenance plants, especially for the back.) I think alyssum do OK out there. I love flowers. Suggestions for a shaded porch with skinny planterboxes?

Front porch has round pots. For it, I got petunias last year which I read were aphid resistant and they turned into aphid farms! I now have primroses along with the geraniums and they seem OK but they probably won't last all summer. I also had luck with Sweet William which was kind of grassy looking, but Salvia gets aphids, too. I tried spraying with soapy water and it doesn't help much. I would be happy with anything easy and green and flowery. Anything like that which aphids don't like? Thanks!

tri color plant. cold hardy to zone 9b. i am not sure what zone seattle is. the tri color plant is one of my favorites. it had apids on it, but it never damaged the plant, and then the aphid died off. really nice blooms too.

Reply:What damage do they do to plants?

Like most insects aphids spit on their food and the plants react very badly to that, it causes poor root development. Aphid-infested plants wilt, not because the aphids have taken water out but because the plant has a problem picking water up from the soil.

Then there's a mould problem from the honeydew. This is where aphids on the leaf above have produced a drop of sap from their rear end and it's fallen on the leaf below. That evaporates and becomes pure sugar, black moulds then develop which kill the leaf.

They also transmit plant virus diseases from sick plants to healthy plants.

Is there any way to stop them coming?

Put aluminium foil down between the rows of your plants - this deceives the aphid into thinking it is flying towards the sky! It works well!

Crowd the plants - grow them closer together. It may not be good for the plant but will certainly keep aphids down.

Keep weeds between the rows - aphids are attracted by bare soil and if you have little seedlings growing in the bare soil that's where the aphids will go.

How fast do they breed?

They reproduce asexually - populations can double in four or five days. One minute you see one aphid, a few days later the plant is plastered!

Color Scheme Dilemma!?

All right, I'm lost.

I've decided to overhaul my old color scheme for a new one.

The old color scheme: deep reds, earthy greens, warm golds, and rustic oranges.

The new color scheme: deep, cool browns, fuchsias, cornflower blues, and maybe a splash or two of apple green for an accent.

After saving tons of photos from over the web, I've nailed down the new color scheme and absolutely love it. But I've run into a big problem:

I have a very nicely framed, old movie poster that's sentimental to me. It was a centerpiece in my one room apartment and went PERFECTLY with the old color scheme. I love this poster, but now it's going to stick out like a sore thumb!

Could it be repurposed to another room where it will blend better, or at least relocated to a section of wall where it won't receive as much attention?

Another idea would be to get an artwork light with a bulb or gel in one of your colors to cast a tint onto the poster.
Reply:The poster seems to be primarily gold and brown. You are still using brown shades in your new color scheme so I don't see it being an issue. Yes, you are getting away from the gold but I think a creative person as yourself can make it work. Obviously, by collecting the photos from the web, you have the decorating bug in you and you know what looks good. If you hang this poster on a wall that is not the focal point of your room, I think it will look great. Since this poster has sentimental value to you, you should hang it and enjoy it.

"Never before the 1st of June" is the general rule to avoid frost. You could put them out now but just keep an eye on the weather forecast in case there is another frost. If so take them down and put in the garage for the night. Any frosts we get now will not be hard so something like a garage will be warm enough.
Reply:My dad lives in the south and put his out this weekend, there is always a chance of frost in may, so maybe buy some horticultural fleece(d.i.y shops and garden centres, it is not expensive and can be used again for next year) which can be used to cover them if a frost is forecast and it will mean you can leave them where they are and it would be easier for you neighbour! :)
Reply:I wouldn't risk it just yet, we may still get a late frost, I have known it happen on more than one occasion. Give it another couple of weeks, or until the beginning of June to be really safe.

These are just example of heel sizes I'm talking about. I'm really good in heels, and my mom and sister say I'm old enough, but I feel like people will think I'm "Trying to look older than I am". You could definately go a bit higher, because people only say "you are trying to look older than you are" when people dress high heels with the wrong clothes.

Remember show either your legs or more of your chest, NEVER do both. Thats what my mum n sister have always said to me and its so true!

Reply:Don't worry! The first pair are cute, and pretty age appropriate. The second pair are definately adorable, I might buy them for myself! However on the third pair, they have an ankle strap. We are planning to get married in a castle in England we were thinking pink and green for colors, my friend owns a linen company so I purchase all of my linens from her. I have narrowed it down to 3 different choices for these colors (overlay and tablecloth). Any opinions (please ignore the chair covers as I think its silly to waste time and money on chair covers with nice chairs, but we will get matching cushions)

I like 3. Pink would be overload I think, as tablecloths. Whereas a room full of the green would be easy on the eyes.

I think the 3rd one is perfect. Very garden, vines. The first two are all crystal and make me think of doll house and Cinderella theme (which I am sooooo over). But the third one resembles the handmade renaissance feel that the castle has. I think thats the CLEAR winner. Plus it has both pink and green as opposed to just pink. I always feel when brides decorate the entire place in pink that half the guests (and the groom) are feeling terribly uncomfortable.
Reply:If you are having an outside reception, then #3. If it will be inside a castle, then I think that 2 fits the whole castle "royal" thing. The small chair covers on those are nice too.

The Tiffany necklace is really pretty and it's also timeless so you could have it forever and it would never go out of style. I can't see pictures cause your profile is set to private. but i would just go with the natural color look. its best not to wear too much make-up and look fake. Stick with browns and mascarra, and then lip gloss.

but I wouldnt wear eye liner, it will smudge if you get sweaty or anything like that. I would just put a light brown eye shadow on and then some mascarra, and then some lipgloss. you are really pretty, don't put a lot of make-up on, let your natural beauty stand out from the rest of the world.

Right. So, pretty much it's common knowledge that wearing a ton of makeup does not impress ANYONE around a barn or a show-- it's more important for your horse to look good! I can tell you, whenever someone sets food on the property and they've got eyeliner and mascara and lipstick and blush on... we all just grimace.

It doesn't even look like you need makeup. Just put on a little mascara, and if you need something to even out your skin tone, do that and NOTHING more. You want to look clean and tidy, not like you're going out with friends. Unless it's dressage or westerm, in which case, you want to do a little bit more.

I'd say they're a little of both. It all depends on what you wear them with and how you do your hair and makeup, what accesories you wear, etc. You could make them as cute or as trashy as you want. But since they're so dramatic, just be sure that you wear the boots and don't let the boots wear you :p

Flowers for my hair - should I use real or artificial - I'm confused?

I'm wearing my hair half up, half down and I want orchids (my wedding flower) in my hair. I'll probably have them on the side by my ear. Here's a photo of how it will look but my orchids will be fuchsia.

Here's the thing:

My florist included fresh orchids for my hair in my flower package and he said that if the hairstylist needs them wired or whatever to just let him know. But I'm going to have so much going on that day, that I really don't want to have to think about picking up the fresh orchids.

I've made hair clips before with artificial flowers. Should I just do that instead? Would you think it's weird if all of the flowers at the reception are real and the only thing fake is in my hair?

Definitely do artificial flowers. You wont have to worry about matching perfecting, because no one is going to hold your bouquet up to your hair and say, "hey, that looks a shade off!!

You wont have to worry about picking up fresh flowers that morning, or worry about the flowers wilting. Artifical flowers will look wonderful the whole day.

Beautiful style by the way!! I might steal it for my wedding, since I'm looking at hair styles.

Reply:I would wear artificial because in your hair the real ones could wilt and not look so stunning later in the day. If they don't match 100%, but are close, I wouldn't worry, the rest of your flowers and your hair shouldn't come next to each other at all.
Reply:ok, fresh flowers that are wired will wilt in no time and won't look good all day! go with the silks, it doesn't matter if they don't match the real ones because you aren't going to be standing holding your bouquet up to your head, lol, or with your head beside floral arrangements period!

the silks are gorgeous, they will be gorgeous all day and it will be one less thing for you to worry about sweetie. ignore the florist on this one, just pop into michael's crafts or another shop and pick up a branch of orchids. your hair dresser can make it work for you and no one will be able to tell the difference between silk and fresh - especially in your hair.

p.s. the silk has the added bonus of not giving off a scent that will be in your face - so to speak! less chance of a headache!

The one thing I have found when doing wedding hair is, Not too big with the flowers in hair. Keep it on the smaller side and just blend it with the rest of the flowers. Hope I helped!

red = because it looks like you have gingivitis

neon colors, = it can be col at times but it does not look normal

glow in the dark = sounds nice, but your lil sis wil lbe scared at you in the night when you'll go down for a drink

try some colors before you put it in, tell your dentist "what are my options?" and look for the one that fits you best

Dusty and his workers had business back as usual in a matter of days. Dusty dumps the waste from the toilets into the water every night, just to save money. People can’t even swim in the water, because it is so polluted. Kids are getting sick, and because Dusty didn’t want to pay to have the waste properly discarded. With Paine stuck In jail, refusing to be bailed out, because he is making a stand, the only person left to do something about it is his son, Noah Underwood. Noah and his sister, Abbey, won’t let Dust keep this up. They devise a plan. A plan that could go terribly wrong. One mistake could give them up. And with Luno guarding the boat, stopping at nowhere to make sure Dusty’s plan is kept under wraps, it seems almost impossible. But with the help from an inside worker, Shelly, it just may work. Abbey and Noah sneak into the boat with an excessive amount of fuchsia food coloring. They sneak into the bathrooms and flush the food coloring down. Also, pretend that you have never read the story before. It confused me when you talk about Paine sinking the Coral Queen and then Dusty having his business back to normal, and then you go back to what the pollution does to people. Paine going to jail just magically appears. How did he get caught?

hahaha thats if they even bother to bury it theyve left ours just trailing down the street and now they want to charge 75 quid to come back and finish the job they should have done in the first place!

Reply:They may nail to to a fence. Its only optics and so no need to bury it.

We inherited cable at our last house, i ripped it out just by grabbing the wire and walking down the length of the garden pulling the cable from the fence as I went - a really rubbish installation job.
Reply:in our case they dug a shallow trench and laid the cable in strong ducting. They will try and take a direct route from the connection point in the road. watch over them though because they prefer to make it easy on themselves. I had to call them back because it was poorly done.
Reply:When NTL as it was called 5 years ago installed ours we just had a cable with some slack in it laid over the soil between the road and the house. You can bury it if you want we were told. Still have not got around to doing it!

They just opened a slit trench and layed the cable in there.. once closed, it was almost invisible... only on the concrete path in front of the window was there any sign of work being done.

Scanner question?

I bought a new Canon (LiDe 25) scanner. While scanning I noticed that Dark Pink (Fuchsia) color changed to light mauve (purplish) %26amp; Red slightly changes to Orange tone in the scanned picture. I tried all software setting in photoshop %26amp; canon scan gear but the color variations won't go. I received the same picture from my client, it is showing exactly similar colors, as per the object scanned. Thus it proves the monitor (samsung TFT) is displaying color okay.

My question is that, incase there is some technical problem in the scanner, want exactly it can be %26amp; is it expensive to fix ? Advise from professionals anticipated.

Sounds like the scanner is bad. That usually happens after years of scanning when the scan head is going bad. Return it and get yourself an HP scanner. They're the only brand of scanner I've never had a problem with in 12 years.

No. It will not survive your winters and might not even survive being inside your home. Fuchsias require warm locations with filtered light, moist soil conditions, and humidity levels between 40 and 80 percent. If you can't naturally provide that then they will not do their best.
Reply:Since you bought the tree in NY it should be a plant that is good for your planting region. I haven't seen many of them planted in the NY area, the winters are really harsh on alot of plants. You best bet is to call and ask the plant store you bought it from. They are sure to know the specific species that you bought at their store and could tell you if it is a hardy plant that can handle the cold winters.
Reply:Sorry but the fuchsia tree is not hardy in your zone. It's hardy to Zone 9 %26amp; can take temps down to -7 C. Your area gets colder than this in Sept - Oct. (-7 C is approx 20 F) Keep it potted,bring it inside after Sept 15th %26amp; cut down on it's water. When you bring it inside spray it down with soapy water %26amp; check it thoroughly for insects %26amp; it should be with you for many years.
Reply:What you have a nice mature fuchsia that's been trained and trimmed into a tree shape. It's the same as a rose "tree" or a rosemary "tree."

Follow Deslotre's advice and bring it inside when the weather turns cool.

Reply:I live in UPSTATE NY and have a HUGE fuchsia "tree"... I have it inside in the fall and winter because it cannot survive below 45 degree temps... However, in the summer, (about Mid May after the threat of frost is GONE) I bring the plant outside (have to drag it because it is way too big to carry)..and put it next to my garden in the direct sunlight... IT thrives and gets thick and full and flowers DO grow, however, only one flower at a time, and each flower only lasts a day... Then, come mid September, I drag it back into the house and put it next to a special DAY LIGHT I had to buy for my parrot.. both enjoy the "day light" lamp. (it's a special light bulb I purchased at my vet because my Macaw needed more light in the room he is in.

What should we put in the rainbow next - fuchsia? Chartreuse? I remember arguing with my teacher about this in first grade, and I'm still right.

Fuchsia flash! I think red highlights have already been done a lot. Fuchsia highlights are something different, that's for sure. Just make sure you are really positive you want to highlight your hair -- highlighting/dying your hair does cause damage. The decision is ultimately up to you! I hope you like whatever you pick.

I am considering reglazing my bath tubs...?

We have two bath tubs in the house we bought. Tub #1 is a cast-iron pink tub, and tub #2 is a super-sized acrylic of the most hideous shade of fuchsia that you can imagine. We'd like to reglaze them white. Has anyone had experience reglazing tubs --- how well does it work on cast-iron vs acrylic?

We're also considering having the surrounding ceramic tile reglazed to match the white color. Ever do this? How did it turn out? Did you do it yourself or hire someone?

We hired someone to do it (the evenness of the coating is better that way) and it worked really well on the ceramic tile. Our cast-iron tub has peeled a little around the drain, though. I don't know about the acrylic. Other than the part around the drain, it still looks really good nearly 5 years later.
Reply:The materials used are hazardous so this is a job for professionals! As with most refinishing jobs the prep work is very important. Look in Yellow pages under "Tub refinishing" or "Tile refinishing". Ask for references from other customers and call them and ask for their opinion.

Works well on either cast or acrylic if applied properly. Be careful not to drop hard objects in tub as it will chip easier than original surface. Follow your installers instructions on cleaning.

i have a dance tomorrow and im wearing a silky fuchsia pink dress with black lace under and above the bust area it goes to a lil before my knees and is ironed to be like pleated... its kinda hard to explain but yeah OH and im going to be wearing super tall heels (which is saying something considering im a bit tall) but anyways... i have no idea how to do my makeup! help much appreciated :D

Reply:Since your dress is screaming with color, I would do a simple, yet HARD make up look.

1) Use a white color and do your brow bone with it making sure to blend with an eye shadow brush.

2) use a light-medium brown color (I use Shady by H.I.P) and cover the lid going into your crease.

3) use a darker brown color and get a skinny brush and make a medium line on the outter corner of your eye lids. about the width of your pinky.

4) blend with a blending brush going tward your nose, Swipe the brown over and over tward your nose, stopping where your eye brow is in-line with your eye. swipe, dnt circle.

5) use eye liner on the top lid Try liquid, use bookoos of mascara, and I would suggest a nude lip.

I have a cotton jersey wrap top that is a really intense fuchsia color. It's machine-washable, but I really do not want the color to fade. I have a vague memory of my mom putting white vinegar into the rinse water, but I'm not really sure and she's no longer around so I can't ask her. What are your tricks-of-the-trade for keeping bright colors really bright in the wash? Thanks, I appreciate your help.

You can try using the white vinegar, but it can damage some of the newer fabrics and dyes. Wash in cold water alone or with same colors only. Shout Color Catchers help too. Also, use a liquid fabric softener and hang the shirt to dry or dry it flat. The heat from the dryer will fade the fabric. Good luck!

Why is light-pink nailpolish so streaky, & is there a fix?

i love baby pink- it's my favorite color. But the opaque, light pink nailpolishes are ALL streaky- they look horrible. Not those light, light almost transparent ballet pinks, or even any of the metallic , shimmery ones- it's the more opaque ones- the thicker ones (which probably has something to do with it) - but for some reason it's only the light pink to barbie pink colors- not any of the darker, fuchsia ones- the opaque whites do the same thing (again- not the semi-transparent whites- the ones that are used for say, the tip of a french). Is there a fix that anyone knows of (OTHER than applying like 4 coats- which takes way to long to dry, and also just doesn't look right)...

I have always had this problem with light colors!! I happens because since the color is so light, when you put it on the excess amount of polish on the brush sort of clumps together and makes streaks that are darker... try doing a couple of coats with a THIN layer of polish, that way there wont be any excess that will clump together and the coats will dry faster. this has generally worked for me so good luck!

I'd say pick based on what you want to go for: if you want to wow a date with hottness #1 but the #2 is good for long-lasting memories of young beauty.

It's semi-permanent color which means it should stay in nicely for about 4-6 weeks. Best of luck! I was thinking of buying that color, but decided on blue.

I've been writing stories and poems for a while now, and i'd like to know what you think of this one. most of my poetry is lighthearted, kind of like a children's book. (I want to write a kid's book someday)

be brutal

The sky is blue, trees are green, this is what we know

and lots of fruits and veggies are needed for us to grow

i thought as i colored the kitty's fur an ugly gray

"why not bring variety into the dullness of the day?"

there are so many colors in my Crayola Crayon box

why be so restricted to the shades of dirt and rocks?

i finished one gray kitty, and started another anew

by picking out a crayon named Outer Space Blue

and soon that cat had fuchsia stripes and periwinkle spots

and a hat with sea foam daisies and scarlet polka dots

i looked down at my masterpiece, my beloved work of art

it defied the laws of coloring, followed the rules of my heart

i wasn't just a simple color-by-numbers fool

'cause today i took a stand and colored outside of the rules

Why do people names their kids these names?
Are you ranting? Yeah your kid is going to get picked on and he has a hughe space to fill to live up to the potintial of his name, but do you love him? So what's the gruff? He's your child and your choice, at eightteen if he wants to change it he will if he thinks it defines him and fits him completely he won't but don't get so worked up over such a small thing as this. Use the energy that you spent on these names for something more usefull, like how the next time someone critisis the names your going to turn it to a complement, "Yes we know his name is unusual but isn't it pretty? We love the way it roles off of our tongue." GL!

i personally like some of the names - and i'd just name your kid whatever you want - if they don't like it later in life they can either change it or pick a nickname they like better!

Reply:I have no problem with the names you chose, my son's middle name is Xane! I get alot of comments on his name, Angel Xane, but I don't care what people say, that is his name.

name you give him/her. Don't get too exotic or they'll be

creating their own nickname,and the one you spent so much

time choosing will be nothing more than an unused form

of identification on official documents. In other words,it doesn't hurt to be a little conventional in this area. It may spare them years of torment on the playground. Kids can be

cruel.

As for the celebrities you list,they don't even live on the same planet as the rest of us. They're all a little odd,I think.
Reply:It must have taken you a very long time to type all those names. Some of them I liked a lot others I feel sorry for the child. Just like I feel sorry for your future children on the names you have chosen for them. Their father will have a say in the matter maybe he will have some better names for his children.

How would you like to go through life with a name no one could pronounce much less spell. I don't think you child will like it either. I think it will be hard for him to get a job since the boss wouldn't know how to pronounce his name.

Reply:The names you pick only matter to you and your significant other! Also your looking at famos childrens names, as if their parents dont get enough attention, here is one other way! The crazier the name the more he/she is talked about! Just ,my opinion!! I think your names are unique, not quite my style but lovely none the less! The funny thing is to me how could somone name there child Henry, or William, Holly or Meghan! I guess it's just a prefrence, and everyone has an opinion!!

Reply:i personally like tradional names, but each to their own. I beleive that when u chose a name for bubs u need to see if that name will suit them thru all phases of life e.g , at kindy? as a teenager? when getting married? as an older citizen
Reply:Their choice. Some are definitely strange, but Carys (Catherine Zeta Jones' kid) is a traditional Welsh name.

Also - Just want to point out - Some of these names are not all that odd...Francesca Eastwood for instance....FRANCESCA is a Spanish name and it is a very old name. (pronounced Fran CHESS ca!!) And some of them...while I agree the middle names are odd...the first names aren't. Most people only go by their first names. And in the case of Cashel Day-Lewis...Daniel Day-Lewis is from Scotland. Cashel is a common name there.

Reply:"My son is Xane Xzavier (it is spelled right)"- No, it's not spelled right. Zane Xavier is the proper spelling. You chose to spell it wrong. That's your prerogative.

Also, alot of those names that you listed are real names - they may not be common now, but they may have been when the babies were born. Granted, alot of them aren't "real" names, at least in my opinion.

A name doesn't make a child/person unique, their personality %26amp; interests do. I know people who have very common names who are truly uncommon. And vice versa.
Reply:I suppose for the same reason everybody has freedom of naming their children by whatever name they want...some are weird.. but it's best to give a child a middle name .. so if it really doesn't like the birth name.. it can go by his or her middle name which should be a bit more fitting in with names that people know how to pronounce and spell..

Some of these celebrity baby names aren't that weird. Francesca, Amber Rose, Hazel Patricia are certainly legitimate names. Even Tallulah is a legitimate name - It's Irish/Celtic. And I happen to love the name Zephyr (and I'm a classic namer).

Reply:Seriously ridiculous names. I feel so sorry for these children, and any child with a "unique" name. I don't understand this trend of unique (read: absurd) names. It's true that one can name their child whatever they want (entitlement!!!), BUT it's the child who has to live with the consequences and believe me, there will be LOTS of them. You could go for a combination of a cool stick-on design plus a snap-on cover--that way, you could see the design under the plastic.

Gelaskins (the first link below) makes some amazing looking skins that are removable. Add one of the snap-on covers (the next four links) and you'd have a very personalized laptop.
